Stevenson Tournament (Girls) April 15 & 16 @ Stevenson
Friday, April 15 East Grand Rapids 5 Stevenson 2 Stevenson struggled to find the net in the tournament opener, falling to East Grand Rapids 5-2. Terri Bukofzer scored the first goal of the game for the Patriots, but EGR scored the next four goals to take a 4-1 lead midway through the third quarter. Katie Michelau added a goal with 2:18 left in the third, but Stevenson could not score again and EGR added one more goal in the final minute of the fourth quarter to get the win.
Fenwick 14 Rockford 10 Fenwick overcame an early 5-2 deficit by scoring five straight goals in a four-minute span to emerge victorious against Rockford 14-10. Farren Rixter scored six goals, Keely Baldwin, Alison Pavlik, and Christina Romano each scored twice, and Danielle Buglio scored once in the Friars' win. Romano got the Friars an early lead with the first goal of the game, then helped tie the score at 2-2 with her second goal of the opening period. Rockford scored three straight goals to go ahead 5-2, but Rixter scored three consecutive goals right before the half to tie the game at 5-5. After halftime, Rixter scored her fourth straight goal to put Fenwick on top, and Baldwin scored her first goal to cap off a 5-0 run for the Friars. Rockford got to within one goal with 3:24 to play in the third, but Baldwin, Romano, and Pavlik scored three straight goals to give Fenwick a comfortable 10-6 lead heading into the fourth quarter. Rixter and Leary continued the onslaught for Fenwick before Rockford could score again, and Rixter added her sixth goal to put Fenwick ahead 13-7 midway through the final period. Pavlik added a late score for Fenwick to cap off the 14-10 win.
Mundelein 8 Mother McAuley 5 Mundelein and Mother McAuley traded leads before the Mustangs pulled out a hard-fought 8-5 win in the nightcap of the tournament. Trailing 4-2 early in the third quarter, Mundelein scored three straight goals to |

close out the period ahead 5-4. They added two straight goals in the final period to extend the lead to 7-4 and never looked back in the win. Liza Dickinson scored first for Mundelein, while Dhara Pandya added a goal early in the second period for the Mustangs. McAuley bounced back with three goals in the final two minutes of the half, as Rosie Asfour, Emily Ginger, and Meghan Nolan scored in succession to make the halftime score 3-2. Ashley Bachler put McAuley ahead 4-2 in the third quarter, but Christine Rowley added a powerplay goal and Siobhan Larsen tied the score with a quick shot from the left wing. Bree Longfield put Mundelein back on top with a goal to close out the third quarter, and Larsen and Longfield would add consecutive goals in the fourth to extend the Mustangs lead to three goals. Asfour got McAuley to within two, but the Mighty Macs were unable to score in the final two minutes, and Dickinson added a goal at the buzzer for Mundelein.
