2019 SECTIONALS
More than 150 boys and girls teams will begin their quest for a chance to advance to the state tournament, starting with the sectional play-in games on May 6 & 7.

The girls' quarterfinal action starts on May 8, followed by the boys' quarterfinal games on May 9. The sectional semifinals are played on May 10, with the sectional final games all taking place on Saturday, May 11.

Links to every sectional site are provided below. These will be updated continuously with schedules, game times, and scores/recaps throughout the week of sectionals. At the end of the week, we will have Sectional Ballers and the All-Sectional Teams (as soon as they are submitted to us from each sectional site).

Wednesday, May 8

Quarterfinals

(1) New Trier 13 (8) Maine South 9

Carly Jennings registered 3 scores while Emily McKenzie, Kasey Umlauf, Leah Caywood and Taylor Jones all scored twice as the Trevians defeated Maine South 13-9. Nicky Rafalo scored 7 goals in the loss for the Hawks.

(5) GBS 6 (4) Loyola 5

Antoniya Zheleva notched 3 scores as the Titans edged Loyola 6-5 in the qyuarterfinal round. Aidan Koconis-O'Malley scored twice in the losing effort.

(2) Evanston 17 (7) GBN 6

Halley Seed tallied 6 scores in the Wildkits' 17-6 win over GBN. Julia Mastej put in 3 goals in the loss for the Spartans.

(6) Maine East 13 (3) Maine West 8

Chrisavgi Kotsifas recorded 11 goals as the Blue Demons defeated Maine West 13-8. Olivia Loewes scored 4 times in the loss for the Warriors.

Friday, May 9

Semifinals

(1) New Trier 13 (5) GBS 6

Carly Jennings, Leah Caywood and Taylor Jones each scored 3 times while Maddie Beacom stopped 7 shots as the Trevians earned a 13-6 victory over GBS and a spot in the sectional finals.

Finals

(1) New Trier 11 (2) Evanston 10

Leah Caywood scored 4 goals, Taylor Jones notched 3 scores and Bridget McKenna put in 2 scores as the Trevians held off Evanston 11-10 to qualify for the state tournament.
