2018 SECTIONALS
More than 150 boys and girls teams will begin their quest for a chance to advance to the state tournament, starting with the sectional play-in games on May 7 & 8.

The boys' quarterfinal action starts on May 9, followed by the girls' quarterfinal games on May 10. The sectional semifinals are played on May 11, with the sectional final games all taking place on Saturday, May 12.

Links to every sectional site are provided below. These will be updated continuously with schedules, game times, and scores/recaps throughout the week of sectionals. At the end of the week, we will have Sectional Ballers and the All-Sectional Teams (as soon as they are submitted to us from each sectional site).

Wednesday, May 10

Quarterfinals

(1) Jones-Payton 18 (8) Amundsen 6

Angeles Zamarano tallied 5 scores and Nayelli Reyna scored 3 times as the Lady Eagles beat Amundsen 18-6.

(4) Whitney Young 13 (5) Northside 7

Elena Vara scored 3 goals while Ashley Razzo, Elizabeth Shumaker, Lauren Norman and Natalia Perez each scored 2 times in the Dolphins' 13-7 victory over Northside. Kimberly Acosta netted 4 scores in the loss for the Mustangs.

(2) St Ignatius 15 (7) Latin 4

Carson Goldrick netted 4 scores to help lift the Wolfpack over Latin 15-4.

(3) Lane 17 (6) Lincoln Park 3

Nora Chambers tallied 4 scores, Mikayla Koconis-O'Malley notched 3 scores and both Sarah Palmentera-Reid and Teresa Zamorano scored 2 goals in the Indains' 17-3 win over Lincoln Park.

Friday, May 11

Sarah Palmentera-Reid scored 4 goals and Mikayla Koconis-O'Malley tallied 2 scores as Lane knocked off St Ignatius 7-5 on Friday night. Carson Goldrick scored 2 tiimes in the losing effort.

Finals

(3) Lane 8 (4) Whitney Young 6

The Indians advanced to the state tournament for the first time in IHSA history after edging Whitney Young 8-6 on Saturday afternoon. Sarah Palmentera-Reid poured in 5 goals and Carolina Pluta scored 2 times in the victory.
