2018 SECTIONALS
More than 150 boys and girls teams will begin their quest for a chance to advance to the state tournament, starting with the sectional play-in games on May 7 & 8.

The boys' quarterfinal action starts on May 9, followed by the girls' quarterfinal games on May 10. The sectional semifinals are played on May 11, with the sectional final games all taking place on Saturday, May 12.

Links to every sectional site are provided below. These will be updated continuously with schedules, game times, and scores/recaps throughout the week of sectionals. At the end of the week, we will have Sectional Ballers and the All-Sectional Teams (as soon as they are submitted to us from each sectional site).

Quarterfinals

(1) Whitney Young 25 (8) Juarez 6

Aiden Cawley scored 7 times and Sean Ko put in 5 scores as the Dolphins defeated Juarez 25-6. James Kugler and Michael Kugler each scored 3 goals in the losing effort.

(4) Lane 9 (5) Jones-Payton 7

Ian Anderson totaled 4 scores as the Indians knocked off Jones-Payton 9-7. Jafet Reyes scored 2 times in the loss for the Eagles.

(2) St Ignatius 11 (7) Mt Carmel 6

Conor Shannon scored 3 goals and Jimmy Howarth made 8 saves as the Wolfpack defeated Mt Carmel 11-6. Luke Siwik and Nikhil Robinson both added scores in the winning effort. Dan Goosherst and Isaiah Williams both scored 2 times in the loss for the Caravan.

(3) DLS 13 (6) Latin 12

Zack Fischer scored 6 goals and Rodrigo Gonzalez put in 4 scores in the Meteors' 13-12 win over Latin. Tucker Jones notched 6 scores and Daniel Schwartz scored 4 times in the loss for the Romans.

Friday, May 11

Semifinals

(1) Whitney Young 23 (4) Lane 6

Giancarlo Zilli poured in 10 goals and Arturo Magana netted 4 scores in the Dolphins' 23-6 win over Lane. Jack Gullickson scored 3 goals in the loss for the Indians.

(2) St Ignatius 11 (3) DLS 7

Conor Shannon recorded 4 goals and both Luke Siwek and Bradley Yendro scored 2 times as SICP got past DLS 11-7. Zack Fisher scored 4 goals in the loss for the Meteors.

Finals

Moises Lopez registered 3 scores, Bradley Yendro scored 2 times and Jimmy Howarth made 13 saves as the Wolfpack edged Whitney Young 8-7. Conor Shannon, Gus Enger and Michael Schiml each added one score in the winning effort.
