2018 SECTIONALS
More than 150 boys and girls teams will begin their quest for a chance to advance to the state tournament, starting with the sectional play-in games on May 7 & 8.

The boys' quarterfinal action starts on May 9, followed by the girls' quarterfinal games on May 10. The sectional semifinals are played on May 11, with the sectional final games all taking place on Saturday, May 12.

Links to every sectional site are provided below. These will be updated continuously with schedules, game times, and scores/recaps throughout the week of sectionals. At the end of the week, we will have Sectional Ballers and the All-Sectional Teams (as soon as they are submitted to us from each sectional site).

Monday, May 8

Play-In Games

(7) Lockport 20 (10) Hinsdale South 4

Emily Plaszewski and Kennedy Ruther both recorded 6 goals while Emily Adelman and Riley Klimek scored 3 times as the Porters beat Hinsdale South 20-4. Kaya Naskinska made 12 saves and Francesca Brunetti claimed all 4 swim-offs for the winners.

(8) Hinsdale Central 12 (9) Neuqua Valley 8

Becca Gray scored 5 goals while Emily Cartwright, Jillian Johnson and Shannon Wenzel each scored once in the loss for the Wildcats.

Wednesday, May 10

Quarterfinals

(1) Naperville Central 13 (8) Hinsdale Central 2

Rylee Brower scored 5 goals, Payton DeZur notched 3 scores and Charlotte Albright added 2 scores in the Redhawks' 13-2 win over Hinsdale Central.

(4) STC North 9 (5) Waubonsie Valley 4

Jules Engesser tallied 4 scores, Olivia Traxler put in 2 scores and Lexi Coakley blocked 15 shots as the North Stars beat Waubonsie Valley 9-4.

(2) Naperville North 18 (7) Lockport 3

Taylor Wessel poured in 7 goals and Isabelle Rocco notched 4 scores in the Huskies' 18-3 win over Lockport. Kennedy Ruther scored 2 goals, Emily Plaszewski scored once and Kaya Nasinska made 14 saves in the losing effort.

(3) Metea Valley 14 (6) STC East 5

Anna Scovill totaled 6 scores and Lexie Budnick added 4 goals in the Mustangs' 14-5 win over STC East.

Friday, May 11

Semifinals

(1) Naperville Central 10 (4) STC North 2

Jodie Nelson scored 3 goals and the trio of Charlotte Albright, Emily Wagner and Rylee Brower scored 2 goals apiece in the Redhawks' 10-2 win over STC North.

Finals

Taylor Wessel recorded 3 goals, Kelsey Ryan and Isabelle Rocco each scored once and Grace Raquel made a crucial save in the late stages of the contest to help lift the Huskies over Naperville Central 5-3. Rylee Brower scored 2 times and Charlotte Albright scored once in the loss for the Redhawks.
