Play-In Games
(8) Hinsdale Central 17 (9) Hinsdale South 7
Wade Kinney scored 6 goals and Jack Duggan blocked 16 shots to lead the Red
Devils to a 17-7 win over Hinsdale South on Monday. Mason Schmidt netted 3
goals, the trio of Donny Kwasigroch, Jake Sprong and Michael Shankman each
scored 2 times, and both Jimmy Lee and Wes Berger scored once for HC.
(7) Metea Valley 15 (10) STC East 12
Mike Roake notched 5 goals to lead the Mustangs to a 15-12 win over STC
East. Tyler VanGyseghem put in 6 goals in the losing effort for the Saints.
Wednesday, May 14
Quarterfinals
(1) Naperville North 17 (8) Hinsdale Central

Garrett Nash and Nolan Roberts both scored 4 goals, Gianmarco Duin
scored 3 times, and both Drake McClure and Joe Cassano notched 2 scores
as the Huskies held the Red Devils scoreless through the final three
periods to earn a 17-2 win. Andrew Rocco and David Holzer
each added a goal in the win for North.
(4) Neuqua Valley 15 (5) Waubonsie Valley 12
Simon Shatinsky poured in 9 goals to lead the Wildcats to a 15-12 victory
over Waubonsie Valley. Joey Dalesandro totaled 3 goals and 10 steals, Scott
DePuy added 2 scores, and both Carter Edwards and Ian Ivkovich scored once
for the winners. John Hedderman also blocked 12 shots and made 4 steals for
NV.
(2) Naperville Central 16 (7) Metea
Valley 5
Connor Lamb scored 4 goals and both Joe Bigenwald and Kyle Jackson netted 3
goals as the Redhawks downed Metea Valley 16-5. Central built an 11-0 lead
en route to the victory. Keegan Reilly led the hosts with 2 scores in the
loss.
(6) York 10 (3) STC North 9 (OT)
Wil Hubert scored the game-winning goal with :19 left in overtime to send
the Dukes past the North Stars 10-9 on Wednesday night. Timmy Matsas
delivered the assist on the key goal, which helped York move on to the
sectional semifinals for a matchup with Naperville Central. Hubert and
Matsas both recorded 4 goals, Ben Howlett and Matt Rodriguez each scored
once, and Matt Bindeman made 7 saves in the victory. Ross Davis led the
North Stars with 4 goals and Collin Bawolek blocked 11 shots in the loss.
Friday, May 16
Semifinals
(1) Naperville North 15 (4) Neuqua
Valley 8
Nolan Roberts scored 4 goals and BD Chapman, Drake McClure, Garrett Nash,
Joe Tomashek, and Luke Landiak each scored 2 goals as the Huskies knocked
off Neuqua Valley 15-8. Ryan Towers also scored once in the win for North.
Scott DePuy totaled 3 goals, both Joey Dalesando and Simon Shatinsky scored
2 goals, and John Hedderman made 8 saves in the loss for the Wildcats.
Austin Mollway also tacked on a goal in the losing effort.
(2) Naperville Central 15 (6) York 4
Christian May recorded 4 goals and both Joe Bigenwald and Nick Walker scored
3 times as the Redhawks pulled away from York in the second quarter to
secure a 15-4 win on Friday. Ryan Donahue also scored 2 goals in the win for
Central. Timmy Matsas scored 2 goals while Matt Rodriguez and Wil Hubert
each scored once for the Dukes.
