BOYS SECTIONALS |
- Sandburg Thinking Upset Against Brother Rice at Sectionals -
- Brother Rice is ranked #2 in the state, but host Sandburg will look to get the best of the Crusaders behind Tommy Strode, Brian Dommer, and Co. Brother Rice has been perfect in the 2004 year as long as they have avoided Fenwick. That is the good news. The bad news is that they play at Sandburg's shallow-deep facility, which could be the advantage Sandburg could use to spring an upset. Rice won't have an easy path to get to state, as they play the winner of the Lyons-Stagg game in the semifinals. Sandburg will be tested if they meet with a physical St Rita team, but the Eagles, led by Brian Dommer, Jon Crhristensen, and Tommy Strode, have earned a strong 27-3 record and will be playing inspired water polo for a chance to get to state. Brian Kuczynski, Matt Wood, and Ulysses Cortez pace a Rice team that is looking to get back to state to defend their title. |
