Naperville North had no problems beating every other team from the area
in 2004. It will take a major upset to keep the Huskies from a state berth.
Up until the final day of the season, Naperville had posted a perfect 27-0 record. Three games later, they wind up 28-2 heading into the postseason, so they must bounce back if they wish to emerge from one of the most competitive girls sectionals in Illinois. North swept every team they could face, so they should have confidence in their semifinal match with either Waubonsie Valley or Hinsdale South. Waubonsie held off the Hornets by a goal earlier this year, and head coach Frank Kuchta has his team red hot after an upset of York two weeks ago. On the other side, Naperville Central earned a bye as the second seed, and will need to be ready for a potential game with Neuqua Valley in the semifinals. Whoever wins that game could meet North with a state berth at stake.
