Neuqua Valley Sectional Preview
Even though the favored team has won the Neuqua Valley sectional for the past three years, it is never a safe bet to count any of the top four teams out in elimination games. Such is the case at Neuqua, where Naperville Central will face a tough test against an improving Naperville North team, while second-seeded Waubonsie Valley will need to be impressive if they hope to get past Neuqua.

.

The Redhawks are the favorite for good reason, as Kevin Bell and Don Lambka are a strong duo on both the offensive and defensive ends. Corey Stein is solid in goal, while Pat Leclair and Ryan Alberts help contribute on the offensive end.

.

Waubonsie is loaded with depth and has a playmaker that can change the outcome of games in Grant Gucinski. With starters Andy Bax, Steve Lalka, and Matt Arnold, the Warriors could emerge from this sectional as a state qualifier.

.

To do that, they must fend off Neuqua Valley, who are a team on the rise under first-year head coach Dan Hengelmann. Ian Johnson has a strong outside shot for the Wildcats, while Jarrett Pivarunas can make plays for Neuqua Valley.

.

Sophomore Alex Buck has Naperville North ready to challenge in the semifinals, but the Huskies will have to avoid an upset bid from Scott Bobo and Hinsdale Central.
