Thursday, May 8

Quarterfinals

(1) Lyons 12 (8) Morton 2

(5) R-B 11 (4) Richards 10 (3 OT)

Richards and Riverside-Brookfield went gone back-and-forth in their first round matchup, as R-B scored a late goal in regulation to send the game into overtime. After Ashley Rampick put Richards ahead by two in the first overtime period, R-B bounced back with two straight goals to take the game into sudden death overtime. Richards goalie Megan Reppen made a key save late in the second overtime as the game went to a third extra period. R-B scored early in the third overtime to beat Richards 11-10 and advance to the semifinals to face Lyons on Friday.

Semifinals

(1) Lyons 14 (5) R-B 4

(3) Mother McAuley 9 (2) Sandburg 6

McAuley used a 6-1 run in the third quarter to take an 8-5 lead over Sandburg heading into the fourth quarter and finished with a 9-6 win over the Eagles.

Saturday, May 10

Finals

(3) Mother McAuley 8 (1) Lyons 2

Neither team scored in the opening period and McAuley led just 1-0 at halftime, but the Macs scored five straight goals in the third quarter to claim a 6-0 lead and eventually defeated Lyons 8-2 to advance to the state tournament. Meghan Nolan led the way for McAuley with 3 goals, Yuri Chavez and Lilly Cortez added 2 scores, and goalie Patti McNamara recorded 13 saves and did not allow a goal until the fourth quarter. Maggie McShane also scored once in the win for McAuley. Megan McNichols and Joanna Curran each scored once for the Lions in the loss.
