JESSICA SHOPIRO
Illpolo.com's All-Illpolo Team
Jessica Shopiro helped
Stevenson finish second in the state in 2005 in her junior year. She was
named to the All-State second team at the end of the season and was also
selected to the All-Illpolo third team for her performance as well. We asked
Jessica the following
questions in an exclusive Illpolo.com interview:
College choices, major, current GPA?
I am undecided on the college I want to go to. I want to major in
elementary education.
My current GPA is around 3.4
Experience, Club Team, Zone Teams, Off-season work?
I played for NIPC two years before I was in
high school. I am also on the Midwest Zone team.
When did you start? How? Where?
When I was 12, I went to a camp and was introduced to water polo. I had already heard about it because I was on a swim team for 4-5 years before that. When I returned from camp, I joined NIPC and started playing there.
Awards and achievements?
I made 2nd team All-State, All-Conference, and All-Sectional this year.
Personal interests? Music? TV shows?
I love reggae and classic rock. I love to go
fishing and go to Wisconsin. I never watch TV unless there is a SOX game
on.
Goals for the future with polo? School? Life?
I would love to be a coach and a teacher after I graduate college.
Motivation, inspiration?
My motivation comes from my team. When i
really want to win, I want to win for my team. My dad plays a big role in
my inspiration. He gives the best inspirational speeches.
First Season role?
First season I was the JV set.
Soph, Junior year roles?
Sophomore: I started occasionally and became a driver. Junior: Starting varsity driver
Other Comments?
