Claire Haas recorded 5 goals and
Eleanor Michaud provided the eventual game-winner as Stevenson won
the IHSA State Tournament after edging Naperville Central 14-13 in
overtime. Fiona Gaffney netted 3 scores and Anna Mossakowski blocked
10 shots in the winning effort. Emily Westlove and Rylee Brower both
scored 4 goals and Sara Campbell made 7 saves in the loss for the
Redhawks.

QUARTER 1
Claire Haas put Stevenson on the board early in the first quarter as
leads
1-0 in the girls' state title game!
Eileen Hoang scores at the 3:32 mark and Stevenson leads NC 2-0
midway through the first quarter
Central goalie ejected but the 4-player wall in front works! Alli
Hansen prevents a goal with an old-fashioned field block
Lauren Maloney scores with :07 left on the counter and Stevenson
leads Naperville Central 4-0 at the end of the first period
QUARTER 2
Rylee Brower connects from the penalty spot and Central is on the
board but still trailing Stevenson 4-1 early in Q2
Brower scores again from the penalty spot but Claire Haas does the
same for Stevenson and the Patriots lead the Redhawks 5-2 with 4:54
left in Q2
Emily Rodgers from downtown! Central gets to within two goals after
a 7m snipe from the senior...
Rylee Brower with the hat trick. 5-4 game midway through Q2 and this
is gonna be absolutely wild this game
Claire Haas scored with just over a minute left in the first half

6-4 in the state title game!
QUARTER 3
Fiona Gaffney's latest goal pushes Stevenson's lead to 9-4 as part
of a 3-0 run since halftime...3:08 left in Q3
Alli Hansen finally breaks the Redhawks' drought after an ejection
but Stevenson leads 10-5 late in Q3
Counterattack alert as Emily Rodgers finds Emily Westlove on the
2-on-1 and Central cuts the lead to 10-6 at the end of the third
quarter
Rylee Brower scores twenty seconds into the final period as Central
has fought back but they still trail Stevenson 11-7 in the title
game
QUARTER 4
Alli Hansen just turned her defender and scored on the "perfect lob"
to cut the lead to 11-8 with 4:38 left. That play tho...
Emily Westlove scores less than a minute later and Central has cut
Stevenson's lead to 11-9 with 4:03 left! Timeout to Stevenson...
Emily Westlove scores from near 5-meters to trim the lead to one!
Stevenson ahead 11-10 with 2:40 left in Q4
This is madness! Stevenson leads 11-10 with 1:02 left and
possession...
Tie game! Emily Westlove! Timeout Stevenson with the score tied at
11-11 with :42 left
Central with the steal but over the goal on the attempt...Stevenson
calls timeout with :13 left and the game on the line!
Stevenson set up shop but Emily Rodgers made a steal and Central
calls timeout with :07 left and the game at 11-11
Stevenson with the stop and that means...OVERTIME IN THE STATE TITLE
GAME AGAIN!!!!!!
Really a tale of two quarters. Stevenson DOMINATED the third
quarter. Somehow Central found a way to break their wall of defense
down in Q4
OVERTIME
Julia Nicholson from downtown! Stevenson leads 12-11 early in the
first OT!
Anna Mossakowski makes a huge save and Fiona Gaffney capitalizes on
the other end! Stevenson leads Central 13-11 at the end of OT1
Emily Rodgers cuts the lead to one but Eleanor Michaud responds
within seconds! Stevenson leads 14-12 with 2:00 left in OT2
