Thursday, May 8

Quarterfinals

(1) Loyola 12 (8) GBS 3

Liz Clarke recorded 6 goals to help lift Loyola to a 12-3 victory over Glenbrook South on Thursday night. Maeve O'Connor added 3 scores and goalie Kathleen Servatius totaled 8 saves in the win for the Ramblers.

(5) Wheeling 7 (4) Hersey 5

After trailing 3-2 after the first quarter, Wheeling scored two straight goals in the second period to take a 4-3 halftime lead and held on to upset Hersey 7-5 on Thursday. Britten Wilson and Christa Khatcherian both recorded 2 goals in the victory for the Wildcats.

(2) New Trier 12 (7) St Viator 5

Mandy Ferguson scored 4 goals and Sophia Palmer added 3 scores to lead New Trier to a 12-5 victory over St Viator. Danielle Volpi tallied 2 scores in the loss for the Lions.

(3) Prospect 11 (6) GBN 9

Meg Dix recorded 3 goals as Prospect held off a strong challenge from GBN to win their first round game 11-9. Emma Goldman scored 7 goals in the loss for the Spartans.

 

Friday, May 9

Semifinals

(1) Loyola 11 (5) Wheeling 2

Maeve O'Connor scored 6 goals and Liz Clarke added 3 scores as Loyola beat Wheeling 11-2. The Ramblers jumped out to an 11-0 lead before allowing two late scores by Wheeling.

(2) New Trier 7 (3) Prospect 6 (3 OT)

New Trier scored the game-winning goal in triple overtime to beat Prospect 7-6 on Friday night to advance to the sectional finals at GBN. Kate Hilbrant, Mandy Ferguson, and Sophia Palmer each scored 2 goals, while Ryanne O'Donnell added one score in the win for the Trevians. Prospect jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first quarter and held the Trevians scoreless for the entire first half, but NT responded with a 3-0 run in the third period and the teams traded goals in the final quarter before heading to overtime. Each team scored once in the first overtime session, then both went scoreless in the first sudden death period. KC Dix, Michelle Schueler, and Meg Dix each recorded 2 goals in the loss.

 

Saturday, May 10

Finals

(1) Loyola 9 (2) New Trier 6

Liz Clarke and Maeve O'Connor both scored 3 goals as Loyola used a 4-1 run in the fourth quarter to wear down and eventually defeat New Trier 9-6 at the GBN Sectional. Nicole Pinelli also scored 2 times in the win for the Ramblers, while goalie Kathleen Servatius stopped 10 shots in the net for Loyola.
