Monday, May 5

Play-In Game

(8) St Viator 5 (9) Hersey 3

Eric Primdahl scored 2 goals and goalie Robbie Vavrik made 10 saves and added a goal as St Viator advanced to Wednesday's quarterfinals at the Glenbrook North Sectional with a 5-3 win over Hersey on Monday. Billy Clifford and Mike Daday also added one goal apiece in the win for the Lions. Brian Chamberlain recorded 16 saves in the loss for Hersey.

Quarterfinals

(1) GBS 16 (8) Hersey 6

(5) New Trier 8 (4) Prospect 7

New Trier broke a 4-4 tie in the second half with two straight goals and held off Prospect 8-7 to advance to the semifinals of the GBN Sectional. Bill Farmer scored 4 goals in the win for the Trevians, while Prospect goalie Brian Forrest made 20 saves in the loss.

(2) Loyola 18 (7) Wheeling 7

Jack Shehan scored 5 goals and added 4 assists, Grant Stevens totaled 5 goals and 4 steals, and Andrew Kramer made 11 saves in Loyola's 18-7 win over Wheeling.

(3) Evanston 11 (6) GBN 3

Semifinals

(1) GBS 6 (5) New Trier 5

(3) Evanston 6 (2) Loyola 3

Evanston broke a 3-3 halftime tie with a 3-0 run in the fourth quarter as the Wildkits advanced to the sectional finals with a 6-3 win over Loyola.

Saturday, May 10

Finals

(1) GBS 9 (3) Evanston 2

GBS closed the game with a 4-0 run to pull away from Evanston in a 9-2 victory.
