Gerrit Adams and New Trier will have to deal with either Loyola or Evanston if
they plan to get back to the state tournament next weekend at Glenbrook North
Whenever New Trier, Loyola, and Evanston get together during the regular season, they compete in shallow-deep pools. That makes Glenbrook North's all-deep facility the wildcard in this sectional, as both Loyola and Evanston have a strong chance to get to state. Loyola's go-to-guy Kevin Riordan will likely step up in the playoffs, and Matt Leck, Colin Hulseman, Tommy O'Bryan and Sean McLaughlin should also help the Ramblers. Evanston's left-handed sharpshooter Alex Negronida will look to help the Wildkits get revenge on Loyola in the semifinals. But the X factor here is New Trier's Gerrit Adams, who can force teams to completely adjust their strategies. If Adams brings his best game and the rest of the Trevians come to play, New Trier could emerge victorious.
