FENWICK SECTIONAL (GIRLS) Schedule/Results . Thursday, May 8 Quarterfinals (5) Latin 7 (4) Young 6 Brittany Wallace scored 3 goals to lead Latin to a 7-6 victory over Young. The Romans led 7-3 heading into the fourth quarter, but Young's Karina Zizumbo scored three straight goals to cut the lead to 7-6 late in the game. Latin's defense held Young the rest of the way to emerge with the one-goal win. (3) Oak Park 14 (6) Lincoln Park 0 Paige Gruber scored 3 goals to help lead Oak Park to a 14-0 shutout win over Lincoln Park. Goalies Vicki Maslowski and Isabel Firpo paired up to make 8 saves while not allowing a goal to earn the shutout.
Friday, May 9 Semifinals (1) Fenwick 11 (5) Latin 1 Katie Tynan, Wella Huening, Colleen Carey, and Morgan Bonk each recorded 2 scores as Fenwick defeated Latin 11-1. Caitlin Kaulus scored the lone goal for Latin in the loss. (2) St Ignatius 9 (3) Oak Park 7 St Ignatius trailed for the entire game until the final two minutes, where they tied and took the lead and held on to beat Oak Park 9-7 to advance to the sectional finals. The Wolfpack used a 3-0 run in the final two minutes to earn the win. Celeste Almarez scored 4 goals to lead Ignatius, while Maisie O'Malley and Lydia Ridgeway each added 2 scores in the win for the Wolfpack. Audrey Reardon scored 7 goals and drew 8 ejections for the Huskies, while goalie Vicki Maslowski made 14 saves in the loss.
Saturday, May 10 Finals (1) Fenwick 10 (2) St Ignatius 4 Morgan Bonk scored 6 goals to lead Fenwick to a 10-4 victory over St Ignatius. Lisett Calderon added 2 scores and goalie Mariclaire Bresnahan notched 9 saves for the Friars. Lydia Ridgeway scored 3 times in the loss for the Wolfpack.
