Quarterfinals
(1) Fenwick 21 (8) R-B 8
Brian Barron and Andrew McKernin each scored 3 goals to lead the way for the Friars in their 21-8 opening-round win over Riverside-Brookfield.
(4) St Ignatius 13 (5) Young 11
St Ignatius won a back-and-forth battle over Young 13-11 on Wednesday night in the second game of the Fenwick Sectional. The Wolfpack led for most of the first half, but Young took a 10-9 lead in the third period. Ignatius later tied the score and the teams were deadlocked at 11-11 with under 4:00 remaining in the final period, but the Wolfpack tallied the final two goals of the game and held on for the victory. Brendan Moore scored 6 goals and Giovanni Wrobel added 3 scores for Ignatius, while goaltender Alex Gestevich made 9 saves in the win. Raul Ariza led the Dolphins with 6 goals in the loss.
(2) Oak Park 13 (7) Lane 3
Luke O'Connell recorded 3 goals and Doug Fischer added 2 scores to help lift Oak Park past Lane 13-3. Dylan O'Connell recorded 3 assists and 5 steals in the win for the Huskies. Moses Timlin led Lane with 2 goals in the loss.
(3) Latin 18 (6) Morton 7
Grant Wilkie scored 5 goals and AJ Galainena and Tim Wickes both scored 2 goals to lead Latin to an 18-7 win over Morton.
Friday, May 9
Semifinals
(1) Fenwick 20 (4) St Ignatius 7
Chris Wendt and Brian Barron each recorded 4 goals and Dan Barron and Mark Ryden both scored 3 times to lead Fenwick to a 20-7 win over St Ignatius. Brendan Moore and Aiden Fowler both scores 2 goals in the loss for the Wolfpack.
(3) Latin 14 (2) Oak Park 11
Grant Wilkie scored 7 goals and Tim Wickes added 4 scores to lead Latin to a 14-11 semifinal win over Oak Park. The Romans will face Fenwick in Saturday's sectional final. Doug Fischer led the Huskies with 6 scores in the loss.
Saturday, May 10
Finals
(1) Fenwick 18 (3) Latin 4
Andrew McKernin scored 5 goals, Brian Barron tallied 4 scores, and Chris Wendt and Dan Barron each scored 3 times as Fenwick rolled to an 18-4 victory over Latin.
