Entry #2 Ten Restaurants/Bars In Movies and Television I Want To Visit Posted August 11, 2011, 6:30pm by Aaron Brown
10. The Ink and Paint Club (Who Framed Roger Rabbit?) - Honestly, this is a bar that mixes toons and humans, where Donald and Daffy Duck play dueling pianos, and Betty Boop is your server. Even the bartender can make multiple drinks at once, considering he is an octopus. I'd be expecting great service. 9. The Max (Saved By The Bell) - I only wish a place like The Max existed when I was in high school. A magician for an owner, a place where you can play any cheesy song without lyrics on the jukebox and you can dance to, and to be perfectly honest this place always made me thirsty for a Coke or a milkshake whenever I saw them drinking one. 8. Cafe 80's (Back to the Future II) - I think it's about time that 80's-themed places started showing up, right? BTTF2 was set in 2015, which is just a few years away, so I'm expecting big things from the Cafe 80's when they first open up. Play old arcade games, listen to Michael Jackson, and down Pepsi bottles 7. Bada Bing (The Sopranos) - A strip club owned and frequented by members of The Sopranos mafia crew? This would be too good to pass up for bachelor parties and the like once every so often. Just make sure not to make eye contact with anyone Italian and don't get too drunk that they have to "take care of you". 6. Arnold's Drive-In (Happy Days) - Arnold's is probably somewhat similar to what a Portillos is like nowadays, and I love Portillos, so I'm pretty sure I would be frequenting Arnold's often enough. Bonus points if I can hit the jukebox and get it to work like Fonzie always did back in the day. 5. Cheers (Cheers) - Overall, Cheers just seemed like a really cool bar with good lighting and plenty of space to either sit at a table, at the bar, or play pool. The name is inviting and the people who work there and drink there seem pretty nice, too. I suppose this is the type of bar you want in your neighborhood. I'd go there for a lot of sporting events. 4. The Krusty Krab (Spongebob Squarepants) - I'm a sucker for swim-up bars in exotic locations, so The Krusty Krab really takes in to another level if I can eat underwater. Not only that, but a Krabby Patty sounds delicious. 3. Big Kahuna Burger (Pulp Fiction) - It doesn't take much to make a burger sound delicious, but Samuel L. Jackson put Big Kahuna Burger on the map with his description of their food before scarfing down someone else's "tasty" burger. Just make sure you have a cold Sprite to wash it down with when you are finished. 2. Mos Eisley Cantina Bar (Star Wars) - Bring Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan as backup when you head to the Cantina Bar in Tatooine. Knowing they have your back, sit back and listen to the Cantina Band play while chugging brews with some of the seediest characters in the galaxy. Tip: Leave your droids at home. 1. Jackrabbit Slim's (Pulp Fiction) - A 50's-themed restaurant with employees who look like famous celebrities. A place to participate in dance contests, enjoy a great $5 milkshake, and a wide variety of burgers and other dinner items. It just seems like the place I would go to the most out of all of my top ten picks.
Five Places I'd Like To Visit Just To Say I Did (Honorable Mention)
5. Moe's Tavern (The Simpsons) - While it might be cool to hang and drink with Homer and Co, the owner is a bit of an arse and most of the customers are just flat-out alcoholics. This type of bar probably exists in a lot of towns and I skip going to those type of establishments 99% of the time. So, I guess I'd go if Carl, Lenny, and Homer took me AND they were paying. 4. Chotchkie's (Office Space) - Imagine getting Brian as a waiter? Yikes. Not really a fan of these places that seem to be a dime-a-dozen in the suburbs, but it might be worth going once just to see how much flair the servers really wear. 3. Mooby's (Clerks II) - Seems like a fun fast food place if Randal and Dante are working there. Beware of a sometimes naked drug-dealer hanging out in front of the store and turn the other way if you hear that Kinky Kelly will be there. 2. Shenaniganz (Super Troopers, Waiting) - To be honest, the customer service at these places probably give them pretty low ratings. I'll just go out of my way to make sure I don't tick off the workers and hope that my food turns out alright. 1. Paul Bunyan's (The Great Outdoors) - I've always wanted to try the Old 96'er steak. Or even just see one get ordered. Doesn't make the list because this place actually does exist in the Wisconsin Dells and it's not all that good.
Three Restaurants/Bars In Movies and Television I Don't Want To Visit 3. El Sleezo Cafe (The Muppet Movie) - Even the owner got thrown out of his own place, which was frequented by midgets, scumbags, bikers, and lumberjacks. Take a pass on this dive bar unless Kermit and Fozzy are going with. 2. Blue Oyster Bar (Police Academy) - All I remember is thinking this was the bar that the Village People and people who liked to dress like them would go to, so I'll definitely avoid any bar with that name in the title. 1. The Titty Twister (From Dusk 'Til Dawn) - The thought of Salma Hayek dancing with a snake around her and a crazy cast of characters might seem like a good place on a Friday night, but I'll pass on having most of the crowd turn into vampires in a location that sits on the edge of hell.
