Spring Bracket Drawing

The IHSA held the Spring Bracket drawing in Bloomington on April 10. Here is how the quarterfinals will line up in May for the 2018 state tournament:

BOYS

Game 1: St Ignatius Sectional vs York Sectional

Game 2: GBS Sectional vs Lyons Sectional

Game 3: LWE Sectional vs Schaumburg Sectional

Game 4: BG Sectional vs Metea Valley Sectional

GIRLS

Game 1: LWE Sectional vs Metea Valley Sectional

Game 2: BG Sectional vs Lyons Sectional

Game 3: York Sectional vs St Ignatius Sectional

Game 4: Schaumburg Sectional vs GBS Sectional

The IHSA utilizes a blind draw to determine the pairings for the state tournament. The first team drawn is placed on the first position of an eight-team bracket and every team drawn after that fills the next spot in the bracket.

In the above listing, the winner of Game 1 will play the winner of Game 2 in the state semifinals, while the winner of Game 3 plays the winner of Game 4 in the second semifinal game.
