Spring Bracket Drawing

The IHSA held the Spring Bracket drawing in Bloomington on April 12. Here is how the quarterfinals will line up in May for the 2017 state tournament:

BOYS

Game 1: Fenwick Sectional vs Hoffman Sectional

Game 2: GBN Sectional vs Lyons Sectional

Game 3: Deerfield Sectional vs LWC Sectional

Game 4: St Ignatius Sectional vs Neuqua Valley Sectional

GIRLS

Game 1: Neuqua Valley Sectional vs GBN Sectional

Game 2: Hoffman Sectional vs Fenwick Sectional

Game 3: St Ignatius Sectional vs Deerfield Sectional

Game 4: Lyons Sectional vs LWC Sectional

The IHSA utilizes a blind draw to determine the pairings for the state tournament. The first team drawn is placed on the first position of an eight-team bracket and every team drawn after that fills the next spot in the bracket.

In the above listing, the winner of Game 1 will play the winner of Game 2 in the state semifinals, while the winner of Game 3 plays the winner of Game 4 in the second semifinal game.
