Frequently Asked 'Rankings' Questions
By Aaron
Brown
As the 2017 season rapidly approaches, here are some
things to consider to help interpret
the upcoming release of the preseason rankings:
1) The rankings are NOT a prediction of where a team
will finish at the end of the season. They are merely a starting point to
the upcoming season and are heavily based on the end results of the 2016
campaign.
So much has changed since the last goal was scored to
end the 2016 season last May, so expect the rankings to change as well as we
navigate through another exciting season.
2) Rankings are based on the information I have at my
disposal. There are a few cases where no matter where I looked and no
matter what stone I turned over, I could not find enough information about
a particular team for the upcoming season.
For example, there are normally a few instances where a
team lost the majority of their starters to graduation and it becomes too
difficult to "predict" who will make up for that loss of production from
the outside looking in.
3) The rankings are subjective and are meant to create
discussion and excitement for the upcoming season.
4) The rankings will be finalized and posted no later
than February 19.
