Brian Johnson (GBS)
Johnson stopped 42 shots for the Titans as they earned wins over Loyola
and Maine South before falling to New Trier 8-7 in the sectional finals at
GBS.
Bryan McNitt/Collin O'Donnell (LWE)
O'Donnell recorded 4 goals and McNitt tallied 3 scores in the Griffins'
12-8 sectional final win over LWC. They combined to score 4 goals as well
in East's 8-7 victory over LWN in the sectional semifinal round.
Charlie Ryan/Danilo Scekic/Henry Yavitt (New Trier)
Scekic and Yavitt each scored 5 times while Ryan scored 4 goals as the
Trevians won the GBS Sectional after beating the hosts and Niles West over
the weekend.
Cole Jacobs/Jon Jon Pettinger/Matt Magee (NN)
Magee registered 11 scores, Pettinger recorded 9 goals and Jacobs scored 8
times to help the Huskies beat STC East and Neuqua Valley before they lost
14-8 to Naperville Central in the Metea Valley Sectional final.
Jake Burke (LWC)
Burke made 39 saves at the LWN Sectional to help lead the Knights to the
sectional final game, where they lost 12-8 to the hosts. Burke made 12
saves against H-F and stopped 13 shots in a 5-4 semifinal round victory
over Sandburg.
John Fischer/Mitch Gavars/Tom Derken (Barrington)
Derken scored 11 goals and both Gavars and Fischer scored 9 times as the
Broncos navigated their way past Conant and Elk Grove before losing a 6-5
heartbreaker in overtime to the sectional champions (Fremd).
Kyle Jackson/Nick Walker/Philip Emden (NC)
Walker scored 7 goals while Emden and Jackson each put in 5 scores in the
Redhawks' wins over Hinsdale South and Naperville North.
Kyle Poland/Noah Groll (Fenwick)
Groll led the Friars' offense with 3 scores in Friday's win over Oak Park
while Poland recorded 3 goals in Fenwick's 10-9 loss to York in the
sectional finals.
Mike Ward (Mundelein)
Ward totaled 8 goals over the weekend as the Mustangs got past Wheeling in
the sectional semfinals before losing 20-12 to Stevenson in the BG
Sectional final.
