Nicholas scored 7 goals and DePau totaled 5 goals and 3 assists as the
Vikings won the MSL Championship after beating Wheeling 15-8 on Wednesday.
DePau added 6 scores and Nicholas netted 3 goals over the weekend as Fremd
won their own three-team invitational.
Andrew Roberge (STC East)
Roberge scored 6 times in a Week 9 win over Prospect and also scored 5
goals in Monday's win over Waubonsie Valley.
Bryan McNitt (LWE)
McNitt tallied 9 goals as LWE claimed the Vernon Hills Tournament title over the
weekend. He led the offense with 4 scores in a 12-6 title game win over
Conant and also scored 5 goals to lead East past Lockport earlier in the
week.
George Lundgren/Sam Szczepaniak (Lyons)
Lundgren scored 7 goals and Szczepaniak added 5 goals as the Lions beat
York 16-8 to win the WSC Tournament. The pair also combined to score 6
goals in a semifinal round win over Hinsdale South.
Kyle Jackson/Nick Walker (Naperville Central)
Walker totaled 13 goals and Jackson scored 8 times as the Redhawks won the
Stevenson Tournament for the second straight week after beating the hosts,
LWC and Neuqua. Walker also scored 6 goals and Jackson netted 4 scores in
Central's 17-9 win over Sandburg on Wednesday.
Larkin Flanagan/Matt Merucci (Loyola)
Merucci totaled 7 goals and Flanagan scored 5 times to help the Ramblers
finish in second place at the MCAC Tourney over the weekend. Flanagan also
scored 3 times in Loyola's opening-round win over St Rita.
Mitch Gavars (Barrington)
Gavars tallied 3 scores in a Week 9 win over Buffalo Grove and poured in 5
goals in the Broncos' 11-9 victory over Mundelein.
Sam Enger (St Ignatius)
Enger made 35 saves and allowed 5 goals per game as the Wolfpack won the
MCAC title after beating Brother Rice, St Viator and Loyola.
Simon Villegas (Niles West)
Villegas scored 10 goals, dished out 8 assists, drew 12 ejections and made
9 steals to help the Wolves finish in third place in the CSL Tournament.
GIRLS
Alli Hansen (Naperville Central)
Hansen recorded 10 goals at the Stevenson Tournament on Saturday to help
the Redhawks claim a second place finish at the event. She scored 3 times
in a morning win over LWC and totaled 5 goals, 3 assists and 3 steals in
Central's win over Neuqua Valley. She also netted 2 goals in a 15-3 win
over Bremen earlier in the week.
Alina Hillery (Jones-Payton)
Hillery earned a shutout win over Northside in the semifinals of the CPS
Tournament and helped the Lady Eagles finish the event in second place.
Allison Travetto (Stevenson)
Travetto totaled 18 goals to lead the Patriots to their own tournament
title after the hosts rattled off wins over LWC, Neuqua Valley and
Naperville Central. She also notched 8 scores in a midweek victory over
Naperville North.
Anna Sullivan/Catie Wallace (Fenwick)
Wallace totaled 6 goals and Sullivan allowed just 3 goals per game as the
Friars earned wins over Mother McAuley and St Ignatius to win the MCAC
Tournament.
Clare Lawlor (Sandburg)
Lawlor tallied 7 scores in a trio of wins over Lockport, LWE and Neuqua
Valley during Week 9.
Eliza Sykes/Emily Mathews (H-F)
Sykes blocked 14 shots in an early week win over Stagg and saved 19 shots
in the Vikings' 9-8 triumph over STC East on Friday night. Meanwhile,
Mathews scored 4 times in the win over the Saints and scored once and made
8 steals in the victory over the Chargers.
Emma Jeronimus/Emily Kini/Paulina Pappas (Fremd)
Kini and Pappas both scored 3 goals and Jeronimus stopped 11 shots as the
Vikings beat Prospect 10-2 to win the MSL title on Thursday.
Genevieve Curry/Jilly Cronin (Oak Park)
Curry scored 10 goals and Cronin netted 8 scores to help the Huskies win
the WSC Tournament after wins over Lyons and Hinsdale Central on Saturday.
Hannah Lukas/Paulina Chowaniec/Sam Wooley (Conant)
Lukas and Wooley each registered 7 goals and Chowaniec scored 6 times as
the Cougars beat Hersey and Libertyville during Week 9. Chowaniec also
drew 9 ejections in the two games while Wooley led the defense with 9
steals.
