Alex Marlott/Tim Evely/Tyler McKenna (York)
Evely scored 11 goals, Marlott tallied 8 scores and McKenna earned a
shutout and allowed less than 4 goals per game as the Dukes won their own
tournament over the weekend. The two field players also combined to score
5 goals in 9-7 win over Neuqua Valley while McKenna earned the win in
goal.
Andrew Shashin (Stevenson)
Shashin totaled 10 goals and 13 steals for the Patriots as they finished
in third place at their own nine-team event.
Duncan McDonald (Whitney Young)
McDonald led all scorers at the York Tourney with 17 goals as the Dolphins
ended the weekend in second place at the event.
George Lundgren (Lyons)
Lundgren recorded 14 goals for the Lions as the defending state champs
finished the Stevenson Tournament in second place with a 3-1 record. He
also totaled 8 goals in a pair of wins over Naperville North and Waubonsie
Valley during the week.
Joey Dalesandro/Troy Salafatinos (Neuqua Valley)
Dalesandro and Salafatinos both registered 10 scores as the Wildcats ended
up in second place at the Conant Tourney.
Liam McGuire/Shawn Shields (LWN)
McGuire and Shields combined to make 42 saves to help the Phoenix win the
Conant Tournament.
Garrett Allamian/Nathan Bawolek (STC North)
Coming soon...9/3 wins, 22 saves, 4.66Allamian helped the North Stars win their own tournament by allowing less
than 5 goals per game and 22 saves over the weekend.
Kent Emden/Nick Walker (Naperville Central)
Walker scored 15 goals and Emden made 43 saves and earned a shutout as the
Redhawks won the Stevenson Tournament.
GIRLS
Abbie Werner (Whitney Young)
Werner led all scorers at the York Tournament with 13 goals as the
Dolphins finished the event in second place after wins against Latin and
Maine East.
Allison Travetto/Lauren Burns (Stevenson)
Travetto recorded 25 goals while
Burns blocked 52 shots and allowed 5 goals per game to help lead the
Patriots to a 4-0 record at the Hudsonville Tournament. Travetto also
scored 17 goals and Burns made 27 saves in a pair of victories over New
Trier and St Ignatius during Week 8.
Genevieve Curry/Kaitlyn Peterson (Oak Park)
Curry recorded 21 goals and
Peterson totaled 41 saves as the Huskies went 3-1 at the Hudsonville
Tournament in MI. Curry also scored 6 times and Peterson made 13 saves in
a WSC win over Hinsdale Central on Tuesday night.
Grace Achepohl (York)
Achepohl scored the game-winning goal to help lead the Dukes past Neuqua
Valley 3-2 on Monday. She also scored 5 goals, made 12 steals and did not
allow a goal defensively as York won their own tournament on Saturday.
Jenny Fermaintt (Hoffman)
Fermaintt scored 12 goals to help the Hawks finish their own event in
second place after a win over Metea Valley and a tie with Lockport. She
also scored a pair of goals against Fremd earlier in the week.
Jessica Deering/Kaylee Hatfield/Lilly Lawrin (EGHS)
Hatfield recorded 8 goals, Lawrin scored 7 times and Deering made 46 saves
and allowed less than 5 goals per game as the Grenadiers won the Maine West Tourney.
Hatfield and Lawrin also combined to score 5 goals and Deering made 13
saves in a mid-week victory over Maine East.
Naomi Willis (Deerfield)
Willis netted 9 goals to help the Warriors win the Hoffman Tournament
after wins over the hosts and Metea Valley. She also scored 3 times in a
win over Maine South earlier in the week.
