Connor Hecker/Eric Krawczyk (Lockport)
Krawczyk recorded 17 goals and Hecker stopped 38 shots and allowed just 5
goals per game as the Porters finished in third place at the Brother Rice
Tournament.
Collin O'Donnell (Lincoln-Way East)
O'Donnell totaled 13 goals and helped the Griffins earn wins over Andrew,
LWN and LWW during Week 7. He also put in the game-winning goal in
sudden-death overtime as East stunned North 15-14 on Friday night.
Eric Nielsen (Mundelein)
Nielsen recorded 8 goals to help lead the Mustangs' offense to a 2-1
record at their own invitational. The hosts snagged wins over Conant and
H-F and fell to top-ranked NC over the weekend.
George Lundgren/Sam Szczepaniak (Lyons)
Lundgren and Szczepaniak each scored 13 goals during Week 7 as the Lions
secured victories over Lincoln-Way East, Neuqua Valley and Oak Park.
Jay Baker (Lake Forest)
Baker tallied 13 goals to help the Scouts post a 2-2 record at the GBS
Tournament.
Keegan Reilly (Metea Valley)
Reilly recorded 13 goals to help lead the Mustangs to the Neuqua Valley
Tournament title. Metea earned a key win over the hosts for the first time
in school history and also defeated Bradley on Saturday afternoon.
Kent Emden/Nick Walker (NC)
Walker totaled 13 goals and Emden made 40 saves as the Redhawks earned
wins over Conant, H-F and Mundelein over the weekend. Walker also scored 9
goals and Emden made 12 saves in a 15-5 victory over Barrington on
Thursday.
Cole Jacobs/Jake Roche/Reilly McDonnell (NN)
Jacobs totaled 16 goals, McDonnell registered 13 scores and Roche made 66
saves as the Huskies finished the week with a 5-1 record and a third-place
finish at the GBS Invite. The Huskies earned wins over Conant and Neuqua
Valley before also getting past Evanston, Palatine and Prospect over the
weekend.
Brian Johnson/Peter Dales/Richard Poma (GBS)
Dales and Poma combined to score 20 goals and Johnson stopped 30 shots as
the Titans finished in second place at their own tournament with a 3-1
record. Dales added 6 goals, Poma scored once and Johnson blocked 23 shots
to help GBS beat Niles West 12-6 earlier in the week.
Thomas Fies (Evanston)
Fies led all scorers at the GBS Tournament and helped the Wildkits earn a
pair of victories and a fourth-place finish at the event.
GIRLS
Annie Picchiotti/Kristen Burger (Maine West)
Burger and Picchiotti both recorded 12 goals as the Warriors earned wins
over Deerfield, GBN and Taft to improve to 12-8 on the season and up to
the #32 spot in the latest rankings.
Becca Schumm (Evanston)
Schumm led the Wildkits' offense with 10 goals as the team beat Jenison
and Sandburg at the Naperville Central Invite. She also scored 3 times in
Evanston's 10-2 win over Niles West earlier in the week.
Caitlin Holzer/Isabelle Rocco/Katie Horn (NN)
Horn registered 7 goals and both Holzer and Rocco scored 6 times as the
Huskies finished in second place at their own event after beating Hinsdale
Central and New Trier. The trio also combined to score 5 goals in North's
7-4 victory over Neuqua Valley on Tuesday night.
Cassidy Degraff/Julia Porco (LWN)
Degraff totaled 15 goals and Porco scored 10 times as the Phoenix finished
in third place at the Naperville North Invite after beating Lake Forest
and New Trier. Degraff also scored 5 goals and made 11 steals in North's
13-7 win over LWE on Friday. The pair also combined to score 9 times in a
16-6 victory over H-F earlier in the week.
Emily Westlove/Faith Vandercar (NC)
Westlove led the Central offense with 8 goals and Vandercar made 26 saves
and allowed less than 4 goals per game as the Redhawks beat Evanston,
Jenison and Sandburg to win their own event. Westlove also scored 4 goals
and dished out 4 assists while Vandercar made 14 saves earlier in the week
against Fenwick and Metea Valley.
Julie Esparza/Nicole McCabe (LWE)
McCabe recorded 11 goals and Esparza scored 9 times as the Griffins went
4-0 at the GBN Tournament to claim victory at the event. McCabe also
scored 5 times and Esparza put in 3 goals as East defeated LWW 11-2 during
the week.
Monica Guyett (STC North)
Guyett registered 5 goals in the North Stars' 10-1 win over LWW on
Saturday and also recorded 2 goals and 7 steals in North's 6-3 victory
over York earlier in the week.
