Week 6 Ballers

 

BOYS

Andrew Roberge (STC East)

Roberge led all players with 14 total goals at the Waubonsie Valley Tournament to help the Saints end the weekend with a 3-1 record at the event.

 

Andrew Shashin/Dan Maleski (Stevenson)

Shashin tallied 14 scores and Maleski added 11 goals as the Patriots finished second at the DeSmet Tournament in Missouri. Both players were named to the All-Tournament Team by the hosts.

 

Collin Kapecki/Cristiano Tomasetti (Stevenson)

Kapecki led the Patriots' offense with 15 goals to go along with the 14 goals scored over the weekend by Tomasetti. Both players played pivotal roles in helping the team go 4-1 at the event.

 

Dylan Assmann/Robert DePau (Fremd)

Assmann and DePau both totaled 10 goals to help lead the Vikings to the Waubonsie Valley Tournament title. The duo also combined to score 10 goals in a pair of MSL contests against Barrington and Palatine during Week 6.

 

Alex Nicholas (Fremd)

Nicholas also helped the Vikings win the Waubonsie Valley Tournament as he scored 6 times (including 3 scores in a title game victory). Earlier in the week, Nicholas poured in 9 goals to lead Fremd past rival Palatine 18-8.

 

Hayden Wiest/Mike Graham/Nick Kamba (Shepard)

Wiest and Kamba combined to score 20 goals while Graham blocked more than 50 shots as Shepard went 4-0 to win their own tournament over the weekend.

 

Kyle Jackson/Nick Walker (NC)

Walker recorded 16 goals and Jackson notched 12 scores as the Redhawks won the Best of the West Tournament after beating BG, GBS, Hinsdale Central and Naperville North. Both players also scored 3 times in a 12-3 victory over STC North earlier in the week.

 

Mike Ward (Mundelein)

Ward led the Mustangs with 14 goals at the Naperville Tournament as Mundelein finished the event with a 3-1 record after beating GBN, Hinsdale Central and LWC. He also scored 3 times in a win over Lake Forest on Tuesday.

 

Tyler Goehrke (Conant)

Goehrke scored the game-winning goal on Wednesday night against Barrington and helped secure the victory with a key steal in the final minute of the win. He also scored 4 times in Monday night's 11-4 win over Schaumburg. The standout defender also did not allow a goal in both games.

 

Sam Lilly (STC North)
Lilly netted 13 goals as the North Stars finished in second place at the Sandburg Tournament.

 

Will Macellaio (Jones-Payton)

Macellaio recorded 18 goals to help the Eagles end the weekend with a second place finish and a 3-1 record at the Shepard Tournament.

 

 

 

GIRLS

Alli Hansen/Emily Westlove/Kaela Codo (NC)

Codo totaled 12 goals, Westlove registered 10 scores and Hansen tallied 8 goals as the Redhawks won the Jenison Tournament after securing four straight wins in Michigan.

 

Annie Picchiotti/Kristen Burger (Maine West)

Picchiotti and Burger combined to score 28 goals over the weekend to lead Maine West to the Vernon Hills Tournament title after wins over Highland Park, Hoffman, Lake Forest and the hosts. Burger also recorded 5 goals while Picchiotti put in 3 scores in an 11-3 CSL victory over Maine East.

 

Becca Schumm/Giselle Figueroa (Evanston)

Schumm and Figueroa accounted for half of the Wildkits' scoring at the Palatine Tournament as Evanston went 4-0 to win the event. Both players scored once in a 2-0 shutout victory over Conant in the preliminary round and both put in one goal in Evanston's 2-1 win over Palatine in the event's title game. Figueroa also scored the game-winning goal in the Wildkits' 5-4 victory over LWE on Friday night.

 

Betsy Zanocco (Meadows)

Zanocco let in just 2 goals in 4 games for the Mustangs as they claimed the Elk Grove Tournament title. She also made 36 saves during the week against Hersey, Prospect and St Viator.

 

Catie Wallace/Eryn Kulik (Fenwick)

Wallace recorded 17 goals and Kulik scored 9 times as the Friars ended the Stevenson Tournament with a 4-0 record.

 

Genevieve Curry/Jilly Cronin/Kaitlyn Peterson (OPRF)

Curry led the Huskies' offense with 16 goals, Cronin notched 9 scores and Peterson made 26 saves and allowed 4 goals per game as Oak Park won the Mundelein Tournament on Saturday.

 

Emma Jeronimus (Fremd)

Jeronimus racked up 44 saves in 3 games as the Vikings placed second at the Mundelein Tournament on Saturday. She also made 19 saves in a 7-2 win over Barrington and stopped 6 shots in a 4-2 victory over Palatine.

 

Karolina Urban/Paulina Pappas (Fremd)

Urban and Pappas both scored 6 goals to help lead Fremd to a 2-1 record at the Mundelein Tournament.

 

Kristin Anderson/Tess O'Brien (Palatine)

Anderson led the Pirates with 5 goals while O'Brien totaled 39 saves as both players helped lead the squad to a second place finish at their own tournament. O'Brien also made 8 saves and scored 2 goals while Anderson also scored twice in Monday night's 8-1 win over Hoffman.

 

Paulina Correa (Mother McAuley)

Correa totaled 17 goals for the Mighty Macs as they won three games against a trio of Michigan's top teams.
