Spring Bracket Drawing

The IHSA held the Spring Bracket drawing in Bloomington on April 16. Here is how the quarterfinals will line up in May for the 2015 state tournament:

BOYS

Game 1: Fenwick Sectional vs Schaumburg Sectional

Game 2: BG Sectional vs LWN Sectional

Game 3: GBN Sectional vs St Ignatius Sectional

Game 4: Lyons Sectional vs Neuqua Valley Sectional

GIRLS

Game 1: BG Sectional vs St Ignatius Sectional

Game 2: Fenwick Sectional vs Neuqua Valley Sectional

Game 3: LWN Sectional vs GBN Sectional

Game 4: Lyons Sectional vs Schaumburg Sectional

To avoid any confusion, here is how everything works. The IHSA does a blind draw to determine the pairings for the state tournament. The first team drawn is placed on the first position of an eight-team bracket, and every team drawn after that fills the next spot in the bracket.

In the above listing, the winner of Game 1 will play the winner of Game 2 in the state semifinals, while the winner of Game 3 plays the winner of Game 4 in the second semifinal game.
