Week 7 Ballers

 

BOYS

Chris Stanek/Garrett Allamian (STC North)

Stanek scored 8 goals and Allamian made 22 saves and allowed 5 goals per game as the North Stars beat Niles West, Oak Park and Wheeling over the weekend.

 

Davis Hianik/Peter Dales/Tommy Hagerty (GBS)

Dales totaled 12 goals, Hagerty registered 10 scores and Hianik made 36 saves as the Titans finished in second place at their own event with a 3-0-1 mark. Dales and Hagerty also scored 3 times and Hianik made 10 saves in a victory over Evanston earlier in the week.

 

Dan Magee/Dominic Rosa/Paul Sitkiewicz (R-B)

Magee (16), Rosa (13) and Sitkiewicz (10) combined to tally 39 goals to lead the Bulldogs to their own tournament title and a 4-0 weekend record. Sitkiewicz also scored 5 times while Magee and Rosa each scored 4 goals in a midweek win over Lane.

 

Eric Johnson/Joey Tomczuk/Pat Melaniphy (Lockport)

Johnson and Tomczuk each scored 11 goals and Melaniphy made 53 saves as the Porters won five straight games during Week 7, including wins over Bradley, Curie, Latin, LWC and St Patrick.

 

Eric Johnson (St Rita)

Johnson led all scorers at the Brother Rice Tournament with 24 goals as the Mustangs won the event after beating the hosts, Hinsdale Central and Lockport.

 

Haden Santefort/Luke Santefort (H-F)

Haden scored 11 goals while Luke made 36 saves for the Vikings at the Mundelein Tournament, while Haden totaled 12 goals and Haden stopped 26 shots in wins over LWN and LWW during Week 7.

 

Omar Gomez/Robert Rodriguez (DLS)

Gomez and Rodriguez combined to score 25 goals for the Meteors as they knocked off Curie, Hinsdale Central and St Rita at the Brother Rice Tournament.

 

Joey Dalesandro/Simon Shatinsky (Neuqua Valley)

Shatinsky led the Wildcats with 10 goals while Dalesandro totaled 6 scores and 23 steals, helping Neuqua Valley finish 3-0 at the Metea Valley Tournament. Both players also put in 5 goals in Tuesday's win over Hinsdale South and totaled 7 goals together in a loss to Lyons on Thursday.

 

Nick Walker (Naperville Central)

Walker scored 10 goals and contributed 12 assists for the Redhawks as they won the Mundelein Tournament with wins over the hosts, Conant and H-F. He also added 3 scores in a win over STC North earlier in the week.

 

 

 

 

GIRLS

Allison Travetto/Melissa Gartenberg (Stevenson)

Travetto led the Patriots with 13 goals while Gartenberg put in 7 goals, dished out 15 assists and made 28 steals as Stevenson went 4-0 at their own event against several of Michigan's best teams. The pair also combined to score 7 goals in a midweek win over GBS.

 

Claire Mueller/Geena Peyton (Mother McAuley)

Mueller totaled 12 goals and Peyton made 30 saves and let in just 4 goals per game as the Mighty Macs went 3-1 at the Stevenson Tournament. Mueller also netted 4 scores while Peyton stopped 10 shots in Monday's win over DLS.

 

Faith Vandercar (Naperville Central)

Vandercar blocked 29 shots and allowed less than 2 goals per game as the Redhawks won their own tournament after wins over Evanston, Jenison and Sandburg. She also saved 12 shots in a loss to Fenwick on Thursday night.

 

Hannah Raymond (Rockford)

Raymond scored 15 goals to lead all scorers from Michigan at the Stevenson Tournament, helping Rockford finish with a 2-2 mark against several of Illinois' best teams.

 

Issi French/Morgan Miller (Neuqua Valley)

French totaled 24 saves and allowed 5 goals per game and Miller recorded 15 goals as the Wildcats won the Metea Valley Tournament on Saturday. Miller added 3 goals and French made 30 saves in a pair of losses to OPRF and LT earlier in the week.

 

Morgan Bartelment/Sarah Dolitsky (Sandburg)

Dolitsky recorded 10 goals and Bartelment made 25 saves in a pair of wins over Evanston and Jenison on Saturday. The duo also totaled 7 goals and 26 saves, respectively, in wins over Bradley and LWW during Week 7.
