Andrew Bertschy/Danny Farmer/Ryan Masi (Fenwick)
The Fenwick trio combined to score 31 goals to lead the top-ranked Friars
to the York Tournament title after wins over Lyons, SLUH, St Ignatius and
York.
Cameron Steele (Waubonsie Valley)
Steele totaled 34 goals to lead all scorers at the Niles West Tournament
including a 12-goal performance in a 17-13 win over Metea Valley in the
event's fifth-place game.
Carlos Leal/Charlie Waters/Jacob LaMore (Bradley)
Leal and Waters each scored 11 goals to lead the team to the Northside
Tournament title on Saturday.
Leal also scored 5 goals in an 11-2 win over Shepard on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, LaMore totaled 53 saves in four wins for Bradley.
Christian Cooper (Morgan Park)
Cooper recorded 29 goals at the Northside Tournament to help the Mustangs
claim a second place finish. He also put in 22 goals in wins over Julian
and Simeon during the week to total 51 goals in Week 3.
George Lundgren (Lyons)
Lundgren recorded 15 goals at the York Tourney, including the game-winning
goal in the Lions' 8-6 victory over Loyola in the event's third-place
game.
Matt Lefler/Max Yusim (Niles West)
Yusim recorded 15 goals while Lefler totaled 31 saves and 17 steals as the
Wolves finished in third place at their own tournament over the weekend.
Lefler also scored a key goal in an 11-10 victory over DLS in the
third-place game of the event.
Nick Amendola (Stagg)
Amendola totaled 20 goals at the Niles West Tournament as the Chargers
finished the weekend with a 3-1 record and a second-place finish. He also
scored 7 times in a 15-14 win over Lyons on Tuesday evening.
GIRLS
Allison Travetto/Melissa Gartenberg (Stevenson)
The Stevenson duo lit up the scoreboard once again as they combined to
score 31 goals in Michigan to help the Patriots finish the weekend with a
4-0 record in the Wolverine state. Travetto also registered 9 goals while
Gartenberg totaled 3 goals, 8 steals and 7 assists in Tuesday's win over
Fenwick.
Cailey Davern/Delaney Shepard/Kim Bernhard (LWC)
Shepard recorded 9 goals, Bernhard scored 7 times and Davern put in 6
scores to help the Knights claim the LWE Tournament title with wins over
Lockport, LWN, and the hosts over the weekend.
Cassidy Degraff (LWN)
Degraff totaled 9 goals and 20 steals to help the Phoenix finish in third
place at the LWE Tournament. She totaled 4 goals and 4 steals in a 9-3 win
over Andrew in the event's third-place game.
Genevieve Curry/Jordin Hale (Oak Park)
Curry led the Huskies' offense with 8 goals while Hale made 22 saves and
allowed less than 3 goals per game as Oak Park went 3-0 at the Saline
Tournament in Michigan.
Julia Cohen (Lyons)
Cohen notched 7 scores, dished out 9 assists and made 10 steals for the
Lions as they won their own tournament on Saturday.
