Steuben win the Jones-Payton Tournament.
Chase Lesniak/Marshall Mathias (Barrington)
Lesniak and Mathias combined to score 14 goals to lead the Broncos to the
Highland Park Tournament title on Saturday. They also scored 4 goals
apiece in Thursday's nights win over Prospect.
Collin Kapecki (Stevenson)
The Patriots' freshman made an immediate impact, scoring 13 goals at the
Stevenson Tournament. The hosts went 3-0 with wins over Fremd, Niles West
and Wheeling.
Jack Schermerhorn/Walter Haracz (Loyola)
Shermerhorn totaled 13 goals and 15 steals while Haracz made 41 saves and
allowed 5 goals per game to help the Ramblers win the Palatine Tournament
over the weekend.
Lane Holin/Nick Amendola/Zack Amendola (Stagg)
The Amendola brothers each scored 17 times and Holin stopped 32 shots as
the Chargers won their own tournament with a 4-0 record.
Ivan Ariza/Jeronimo Chavez (Curie)
Chavez led the Condors' offense with 23 goals and Ariza provided stellar
all-around play and scored 9 goals to help Curie finish with a 3-1 record
at the Palatine Tournament.
Joey DalesandroScott Depuy/Simon Shatinsky (NV)
Shatinsky put in 18 goals to lead all scorers at the Naperville
Tournament, which included a 6-goal performance in a 14-13 win over
Naperville North. Dalesandro and DePuy combined to score an additional 18
goals as the Wildcats jumped to #5 in the most recent rankings.
Mike Ward (Mundelein)
Ward led the Mustangs with 16 goals as they finished 3-1 at the Palatine
Tournament. He also contributed 7 goals in a win over Palatine on Tuesday.
Shane Hughes (St Ignatius)
Hughes poured in 31 goals at the Palatine Tournament to lead all scorers
at every tournament in Illinois, including a 12-goal output in a 16-11 win
over Oak Park.
GIRLS
Brennah Hasty/Zoe Spada (LWE)
Spada tallied 9 goals and Hasty blocked 22 shots for LWE as they claimed
second place at the HC Tournament.
Carmen Rosas/Maddy Demaret (Conant)
Rosas recorded 19 goals and Demaret stopped 39 shots to help Conant claim
their own tournament title. Demaret also earned a shutout in the title
game against Lane.
Caroline Walsh (Lyons)
Walsh registered 13 goals at the Stevenson Tournament on Saturday, helping
the Lions finish with a 2-1 record against three Top 25 opponents. She
also scored 6 times in Friday's win over York and netted 3 goals in a win
over McAuley on Wednesday night.
Claire Rich/Katie Difiglio (STC North)
Difiglio scored 6 goals and Rich made 24 saves and let in less than 3
goals per game to help the North Stars win the Hinsdale Central
Tournament. Difiglio also totaled 4 goals and 7 steals and Rich allowed
just 2 goals in Thursday's 7-2 win over Barrington.
Jordin Hale/Mia Andreoli (Oak Park)
Andreoli scored 17 goals and Hale totaled 29 saves and 14 assists as the
Huskies won the Northside Tournament with a 4-0 record on Saturday.
Katie Horn (Naperville North)
Horn totaled 11 goals to lead the Huskies' offense at the Metea Valley
Tournament, where North finished with a 4-0 record. She also scored 6
goals in a win over York earlier in the week.
Marti Hale (Northside)
Hale poured in 30 goals for the Mustangs as they went 3-1 at their own
tournament on Saturday with wins over Marian, Hinsdale South, and York.
Rebecca Sudworth (Jones-Payton)
Sudworth recorded 20 goals in two games as the Lady Eagles earned wins
over Lincoln Park and Whitney Young to start the season with a 2-0 record.
