edged Mundelein in a shootout to claim third place at the Naperville
Tournament on Saturday afternoon.
Drake McClure/Garrett Nash/Nolan Roberts (NN)
Roberts scored 13 goals to lead the Huskies' offense during the Naperville
Tournament, Nash totaled 7 goals and scored 5 times in wins over Mundelein
and NC, and McClure tallied 3 key goals in the team's 12-9 title game win
over Central and scored 6 goals at the event. The trio combined to score 8
goals in a 13-8 win over Neuqua Valley on Tuesday.
John Pretet (STC North)
Pretet registered 12 scores for the North Stars in their third place
finish at the Sandburg Tournament; he put in 4 goals in Saturday's win
over Conant, then added a key second half goal in the team's 2-1 victory
over LWN in their final game.
John Roberts/Robert Liberman (GBN)
Roberts scored 15 goals and Liberman added 13 scores as the short-handed
Spartans made a strong impression at the Naperville Tournament over the
weekend. The duo also put in 5 goals in Thursday's 8-5 victory over Maine
South.
Jude Krauss (Mundelein)
Krauss led all scorers at the Naperville Tournament with 16 goals, helping
Mundelein walk away with a 2-2 record over the weekend.
Nate Reiff (Wheeling)
Reiff recorded 16 goals, 11 assists, and 20 steals during Week 6 to lead
the Wildcats past Elk Grove, Lake Forest, and Prospect.
Shamus Shields (LWN)
Shields blocked 65 shots for the Phoenix as they finished fourth at the
Sandburg Tournament. He also allowed just two goals and maintained a
first-half shutout in the third-place game, a 2-1 loss to STC North.
GIRLS
Emily Morrison (Maine West)
Morrison led all scores at the Vernon Hills Tournament with 15 goals as
the Warriors claimed second place with wins over the hosts and Hoffman.
Giles Molloy/Jenna Zitkus (Maine South)
Zitkus totaled 10 goals and Molloy scored 7 times to help the Hawks finish
in fourth place at the St Viator Tournament with a 2-2 record.
Kaela Codo (Naperville Central)
Codo scored the game-winning goal in the Redhawks' 8-6 win over #3
Hudsonville and led the team with 9 total goals as Central finished in
second-place amongst Michigan's top teams at the Jenison Tournament over
the weekend.
Kaitlyn Claffey/Maddy Demaret (Conant)
Claffey was the defensive star for the Cougars with 16 steals and Demaret
blocked 24 shots as Conant won the Vernon Hills Tournament on Saturday.
Kim Butler/Rachel Chumbook (Palatine)
Chumbook recorded 14 goals and Butler totaled 49 saves as the Pirates went
4-0 to win the St Viator Tournament for the first time in team history
over the holiday weekend. Butler also earned a shutout after blocking 17
shots in Palatine's title-game victory over Prospect.
Hannah Schultz (Bremen)
Schultz recorded 11 goals on Thursday in wins over Andrew and York and
contributed 7 more goals in two games on Saturday at the
York Tournament to help Bremen finish with a 3-1 record over the
extended weekend.
