White Inspires Fenwick To State Title
With the home crowd charged up after Stevenson tied the state title game
with Fenwick at 2-2, White scored a goal early in the second period to
start a 5-1 run and give the Friars a 3-2 lead they would never give up.
He scored three of the team's five goals during that stretch as the Friars
built a 7-3 advantage en route to a 10-4 title-game victory.

O'Brien Makes Life Difficult For Friars
Matt Farmer drew a penalty on Fenwick's first possession of the state
title game, but Stevenson goalie Rob O'Brien blocked his penalty shot
right before the Patriots took an early 1-0 lead. He also blocked a
penalty in the second period and totaled 28 saves in Stevenson's 10-4 loss
to the Friars.

Eric Curia scored from just inside five meters on Naperville North's first
possession to set the tone right away in the Huskies' 20-7 blowout win
over St Ignatius.

Maloney and Juarez Combine To Score Daring Goal
With the Wolfpack clinging to a one-goal lead early in the final period,
Maggie Maloney fed Karen Juarez with a pass to the left post immediately
following an ejection and she magically flipped a backhand shot through
traffic to beat Caroline Foglton and give St Ignatius a 9-7 lead that they
would never relinquish.

Jackovich Calls Her Own Shot For Knights
On multiple occasions, Danijela Jackovich called for the ball and then
scored when the Knights needed a goal to help Lincoln-Way Central nearly
surprise St Ignatius in the state title game. She scored in the final
minute of the first half to tie the score at 5-5, then drove to set and
scored quickly right after the Knights had gone down 10-7. It wasn't
enough as LWC eventually lost 12-9, but she constantly fought off
double-teams to give her squad a chance to win until the final whistle.

Kleist Dominates Early For Mighty Macs
With Mundelein's defense gaining confidence after keeping Mother McAuley
off the scoreboard in the first few minutes, Kristen Kleist turned her
defender and scored from close range to give the Mighty Macs a 1-0 lead.
She would go on to score four of the team's first five goals in an 11-9
victory over the Mustangs in the third-place game.
