LWC 12 Loyola 11
Hustle Play Helps LWC Pull Away From Loyola
Early in the fourth quarter, the Knights led the Ramblers by two as the
teams were consistently trading goals. Danijela Jackovich had a chance to put
Central ahead by three, but her outside shot slammed against the crossbar
and the ball got tipped to the right side of the goal. In a furious
scramble with two defenders and Loyola goalkeeper Meredith O'Brien, Liz Klock gained possession and fed a wide-open Jackovich, who had crashed the
goal and easily scored to give LWC an 11-8 lead that Loyola could not come
back from.
Mundelein 11 Barrington 5
Second Chance Sparks Mundelein's Crucial Run
Right after Barrington had cut Mundelein's lead to one in the third
quarter, the Mustangs were denied by Fillies' goalie Grace Buenrostro, but
they got to the rebound first, allowing Michelle Barron a chance to score from five meters out to put Mundelein ahead 5-3. They would use that momentum to score four
straight goals and close the book on Barrington's chance of pulling an
upset.
St Ignatius 15 Naperville Central 6
Perimeter Defense Keys St Ignatius' Turnaround
Naperville Central and St Ignatius were always within one goal of each
other throughout the majority of the first half. The Wolfpack had just
taken a 5-4 lead in the final minute when Becky Insalaco and Karen Juarez
teamed up to make a steal on the perimeter and Insalaco scored a breakaway
goal to give the Wolfpack a two-goal lead at halftime that the Redhawks
would never recover from.

Power Outage Doesn't Slow Fenwick's Surge
With Fenwick in the midst of a 3-0 run to close the gap to 7-6 with 1:41
remaining in regulation, the power went out in the Stevenson pool causing
a fifteen minute delay. Colleen Barron wasn't bothered, as her lob shot
caught McAuley goaltender Sarah Abbott off guard and tied the game at 7-7
with just over one minute left to play.
