-Fenwick wins the swim-off, but Arciniega forces a turnover and McAuley gets possession

-Barron forces a bad pass that Kohut claims

-The shot clock runs out on Fenwick's second possession

-Barron's help defense prevents Bryar from getting a shot off from the right post

-McAuley gets a stop but Fenwick gets the ball back and Ovalle puts Fenwick ahead 1-0

-Curry forces a turnover and Barron's lob shot from the right side gives Fenwick a 2-0 lead

-Kleist shoots from outside but misses and the Friars take over on offense

-Abbott comes out of the goal to earn a steal but Kleist shoots over the goal on the other end

-Kohut's seven meter attempt is denied by Abbott

-Buglio blocks a nine meter shot from McAuley as we hit the three minute mark of the first period

-Bryar forces a turnover and McAuley draws an ejection; Kleist connects for McAuley and it's 2-1

-Kohut's shot goes over the goal

-Bryar draws an ejection off a pass from Golon, and Arciniega finds Kopale on the left and she scores!

-Buglio blocks Bryar's shot and Ovalle shoots over the goal on the other end

-Curry draws an ejection late in the period but Borkovec's shot caroms off the post and McAuley gets it

-The period ends with the teams tied at 2-2

PERIOD 2

-Fenwick starts with it but Abbott makes an early save to keep the game tied

-Arciniega smacks the post with a shot but McAuley gets it back; Kopale's lob also hits the crossbar

-McAuley has a third chance to score and Bryar does just that at the end of the shot clock

-Bryar's shot from the left side just beat Buglio to the left of the cage

-Borkovec earns an ejection for the Friars, Kopale with a field block, and Borkovec shoots over the goal

-The Fenwick defense steps up to force a turnover

-Barron nails the crossbar on the other end and McAuley takes over possession

-G Curry tips the ball away from Williamson as she drove to the right post

-Fenwick hits the post again and Abbott grabs it, passes ahead, and Bryar eventually scores for the Macs

-Bryar with a steal; Borkovec does the same on the other end

-Ovalle draws a penalty! Borkovec scores to the left corner to cut the lead to 4-3

-Buglio saves Bryar's shot from outside nine meters

-Abbott tips Borkovec's shot away and gets to the loose ball to start McAuley's offensive attack

-Kleist draws an ejection, Fenwick with a block but Kleist scores from the point to make it 5-3

-Barron misses from outside and McAuley takes over with a two goal advantage

-Borkovec makes a steal and Abbott blocks Barron's shot from five meters out

-Fenwick's next chance ends with a lob shot that just goes over the goal

-McAuley draws an ejection in the final minute and a second ejection is called! Fenwick with a stop!

-We have reached halftime! Will that 6-on-4 come back to haunt the Macs, who lead 5-3 at the break

PERIOD 3

-Fenwick starts with it and they draw quick ejection, but Abbott comes up with a crucial save

-The shot clock runs out on McAuley's first offensive possession of the half

-Borkovec misfires from outside and the Mighty Macs take over on offense

-Bryar's shot is just kept out by Buglio at the left post

-An offensive foul on Bryar leads to a breakaway chance, but Abbott comes out to make a steal

-It's all defense early in the second half, as Wickham's five meter shot is rushed and Abbott saves it

-Kohut earns a steal on the perimeter but Golon takes it right back

-Kleist draws an ejection but McAuley turns it over without getting a shot on goal

-Fenwick timeout - 3:27 remaining in the third quarter

-Ovalle and A Curry both have two ejections, while Arciniega has two ejections for McAuley

-MaryJune O'Connell earns a steal and tips it to Kopale

-Kleist draws a penalty! Bryar converts and McAuley leads 6-3 late in the third period

-McAuley with a stop and Wallace forces a turnover at the other end

-Triple team action at two meters as Borkovec can't gain possession

-Kleist's lob shot hits the crossbar and Fenwick stays within three goals

-Abbott tips Barron's shot out-of-play and the Friars get another possession

-McAuley makes another stop and they have yet to let in a goal in the second half

-Bryar's five meter shot hits the left post and bounces in to give McAuley a 7-3 lead!

-Kopale deflects Carey's shot into Abbott's hands and McAuley can play for the last shot

-Fenwick has a chance at the end of the period but can't get a shot off from in close

PERIOD 4

-Mountain to climb for Fenwick to comeback against this stingy McAuley defense

-If any team can do it, it would be the back-to-back champions

-G Curry scores immediately from the right post for the Friars to make it 7-4

-Borkovec with a steal, ahead to Ovalle, and Curry shoots over the goal for the Friars

-Wallace gets help from Borkovec to force a turnover, but her outside shot is blocked by Abbott

-Buglio denies Kopale from close range to keep Fenwick within three goals of the Mighty Macs

-Ovalle misses and McAuley takes over

-Kleist draws an ejection and Mother McAuley calls a timeout

-Ovalle forces a turnover and assists Borkovec on a breakaway goal to make it 7-5

-McAuley draws Ovalle's third ejection but Williamson misses wide-right and Fenwick gets possession

-Barron's lob is over the goal and McAuley keeps whittling the time down

-Bryar gets inside position on a drive but Buglio makes an unbelievable save!

-Abbott makes a save of her on the other end

-The shot clock expires on McAuley's next possession

-Offensive foul called on Borkovec on the right post and the Mighty Macs need to kill two minutes

-Fenwick with a stop and a timeout is taken by head coach Jack Wagner

-Barron draws a foul at five meters and converts to make the score 7-6 with under two minutes left

-Uh oh...the power just went out. Not what this game needed. The teams head to their benches

-Kohut just made a steal and them BAM! it got really dim in the pool area (see below)

-Still waiting...

-The lights are slowly coming back on and they might just play with what they have

-Five minute warmup offered to the teams and they REJECT IT! Right on...

-Wild scramble and Barron's lob from 9m goes in!

-Buglio denies Arciniega's backhand from two meters out

-Arciniega with a steal and draws an ejection and McAuley calls a timeout

-Bryar found Kleist open on the right side and she beats Buglio to give McAuley an 8-7 lead!

-Fenwick timeout with 0:27 left

-Bryar forces a turnover and head coach Vanessa Carroll calls timeout with 0:21 left

-The Mighty Macs run out the clock after drawing three fouls to secure an 8-7 win!
