Joe Shannon/Peter Dore (Lyons)

Shannon recorded 19 goals and Dore added 13 scores for the Lions as they went 4-0 at the York Tournament, winning the event by beating SLUH in Saturday's title game.

On Friday, both players scored 4 goals in a 17-5 victory over Mundelein, while Shannon totaled 4 scores and Dore netted 3 goals in a 17-3 victory over Niles West. Shannon put in 7 goals and Dore notched 3 scores in LT's 14-0 shutout of Oak Park on Saturday. In the title game, Shannon tallied 4 goals and Dore scored 3 times to help the Lions roll to a 15-4 win over SLUH, Missouri's top-ranked squad.

Dore also scored 3 goals in Monday's victory over Palatine, while Shannon chipped in with 2 goals in a mid-week win over Hinsdale Central.

GIRLS

Becky Insalaco/Rebecca Martinez (St Ignatius)

Martinez scored 19 goals and Insalaco totaled 12 scores and drew 12 ejections as St Ignatius went 3-0-1 over the weekend to finish tied for the Fenwick Tournament title.

Insalaco totaled 10 goals, 8 assists, and 3 ejections drawn in Thursday night's victories over St Thomas and Stevenson, while Martinez scored 8 times on the night.

Martinez scored 5 times and Insalaco drew a whopping 9 ejections in Saturday's semifinal win over Mother McAuley.

In the title game draw with Fenwick, Martinez scored the game's opening goal, while Insalaco scored 2 times for the Wolfpack.
