Players To Watch
Preseason Vol. II: Underclassmen Version
Keep an eye out for the following players throughout the rest of the 2013
season:
BOYS
Chase Lesniak (Barrington)
The Broncos' sophomore got his career off to a fast start in 2012, so he
could be called upon to help lift Barrington up the Mid-Suburban League
West standings this season.
Joseph Gibson (St Patrick)
The Shamrocks are expecting big things from the highly-touted freshman
Gibson, who could start in his first season.
Preston Gennet (H-F)
Gennet should see significant playing time in just his first season for
the Vikings, who open the season ranked ninth in the state.
GIRLS
Charlotte Rosenberg (Latin)
The Romans will look to sophomore Charlotte Rosenberg to lead the
offense after her career got off to a bright start in 2012.
Delaney Shepard (LWC)
The Knights' sophomore could prove to be an important element for a team
looking to repeat as sectional champs in 2013.
Diane Fernandez & Jenny Stelnicki (St Ignatius)
The freshmen duo could make an impact sooner rather than later for the
third-ranked Wolfpack.
Jessie Cronin (Whitney Young)
The Dolphins should get a major boost from Cronin as the
sophomore begins her second season at the Varsity level after making a
significant impact in 2012.
Jillian Eiken (Naperville North)
Eiken emerged as a major threat for the Huskies in just her first season,
so she is expected to be a key factor for the fifteenth-ranked Naperville
squad.
