May recorded 5 goals and Prestinario blocked 35 shots as the Redhawks went
3-0 at the Stevenson Tournament over the weekend, with wins over the
hosts, LWC, and Neuqua.
Dan Oldendorf/John Goetz (Lockport)
Oldendorf totaled 19 goals and Goetz made 49 saves as the Porters closed
the regular season with wins over Sandburg, Lincoln-Way Central, and
Neuqua Valley.
Joe Shannon/Peter Dore/Josh Hirt (Lyons)
Shannon and Dore both scored 9 goals and Hirt chipped in with 7 scores as
Lyons won the West Suburban Conference by beating Hinsdale Central and
York on Saturday.
Quinn Johnson (Bremen)
Johnson totaled 17 goals to help lead Bremen to the Metea Valley
Tournament title on Saturday with victories over the hosts, Barrington,
and Elk Grove.
Peter Krivanec/Ryan Petersen (Stagg)
Peterson recorded 20 goals and Krivanec made 36 saves as the Chargers
earned wins over Andrew, Bradley, and LWW to close out the regular season.
Seth Hughes (Whitney Young)
Hughes scored 21 goals and surpassed the 500-goal mark for his career in
helping the Dolphins finish in second place in the CPS Tournament in Week
9. He also scored 11 times in a 14-13 win over Metea Valley on Monday.
GIRLS
Alex Kanaris (Team)
Kanaris led the Patriots with 13 goals as they won their own event on
Saturday, beating LWC, Naperville Central, and Neuqua Valley. She also led
the team with 4 goals in a win over Waubonsie Valley on Wednesday.
Allison Boothe/Karrie Kozokar (Mundelein)
Kozokar recorded 14 goals and Boothe added 9 scores as Mundelein won their
own tournament on Saturday, beating Bradley, Latin, and Wheeling to end
the regular season.
Hannah Schultz (Bremen)
Schultz led all scorers at the Metea Valley Tournament, as she scored 13
goals in wins over Barrington and the hosts.
Jessie Cronin (Whitney Young)
Cronin totaled 12 goals, including the eventual game-winner in a 6-5 win
over Lane, as the Dolphins won the CPS title on Saturday. She scored 6
goals in win over Payton, netted 2 scores in a semifinal round victory
over Northside, and put in 4 scores in the championship game against the
Indians.
Alona King/Lauren Olson (Sandburg)
Olson was at her best on the defensive end in helping the team earn wins
over H-F, Lincoln-Way Central, Lockport, and Neuqua Valley during Week 9.
Meanwhile, King made 48 saves in the four victories for Sandburg.
Lisa Danhauer/Sam Gavars (Barrington)
Danhauer and Gavars combined to score 17 goals as the Fillies technically
won the Metea Valley Tournament with a 2-1 record. Both players also
scored 2 times to help their team win the Mid-Suburban League title in an
8-6 victory over Hersey.
