Palatine, and Stevenson.
Collin Bawolek (STC North)
Bawolek totaled 28 saves to help the North Stars finish with a 3-0 record
to win their own tournament title on Saturday.
Joey Ryan/Jordan Palmer (New Trier)
Ryan and Palmer combined to score 19 goals to help the Trevians finish in
third place at the Stevenson Tournament; both players scored 3 goals in a
narrow 9-8 loss to #1 LT in the championship round.
Kyle Gannon/Nick Traxler/Nick Kowaleski (STC North)
Gannon scored 8 times, Traxler registered 7 scores, and Kowaleski scored
the game-winning goal in the North Stars' 7-6 win over Bremen as STC North
won their own tourney on Saturday.
Kevin Mayer (Brother Rice)
Mayer scored the game-winning goal in a 9-8 overtime win over Naperville
Central and totaled 11 goals as Brother Rice finished in fifth place at
the Stevenson Tournament.
Matt Bresnahan/Tommy McGuire (Fenwick)
Bresnahan led a balanced Friars' attack with 7 goals and McGuire blocked
37 shots in three wins; Fenwick finished in second place at the Stevenson
Tournament with wins over Loyola, New Trier, and Palatine.
Seth Hughes (Whitney Young)
Hughes recorded 18 goals to lift the Dolphins to a second place finish at
the STC North Tournament on Saturday.
GIRLS
Cara Borkovec/Colleen Barron (Fenwick)
Borkovec and Barron combined to score 24 goals in Week 8 as the Friars
beat East Kentwood, Hudsonville, LWC, NC, Mundelein, and Rockford.
Jillian Eiken/Katie Horn (Naperville North)
Eiken and Horn combined to score 13 goals in the Huskies' wins over Fremd
and Libertyville at their own mini-tourney on Saturday. Eiken also scored
3 goals in a 10-5 victory over Bremen on Friday.
Danijela Jackovich (Lincoln-Way Central)
The Knights' senior totaled 14 goals as LWC finished in third place at the
Rockford Tournament in Michigan; Central beat Okemos and Zeeland before
losing to #1 Fenwick and #1 Rockford on Saturday afternoon. She also
scored 5 goals in Tuesday's 11-9 win over H-F.
Kat Dobrowski/Theresa Godlewski (Wheeling)
The Wildcats' duo totaled 13 goals as Wheeling finished in second place at
the Lane Tournament after an overtime loss to Oak Park on Saturday
afternoon. Both players scored 3 goals in Tuesday's 9-8 win over Elk Grove
as well.
Rachel Chumbook (Palatine)
Chumbook scored 5 goals in a 6-3 upset win over STC North and totaled 7
goals in a 15-1 victory over HEHS on Tuesday.
