BOYS
Chase Lesniak (Barrington)
Lesniak recorded 21 goals to help Barrington win two games at the Vernon
Hills Tournament on Saturday.
Dan Oldendorf/Jake Elias (Lockport)
Oldendorf and Elias combined to score 19 times as Lockport won the
Hinsdale South Tournament with wins over Andrew, STC East, and the hosts.
The duo also totaled 10 goals in Tuesday's win over Metea Valley and
totaled 9 scores in a 12-5 victory over Lockport on Thursday.
Eric Curia (Naperville North)
For the second straight weekend, Curia led all scorers at a tournament,
this time helping the Huskies finish in third at Fenwick's annual event
with 19 goals. North beat Brother Rice, LWE, and Naperville Central and
lost to Lyons 6-5.
Jake Nelson (Glenbrook South)
Nelson totaled 15 goals to help lead the Titans' offense to a 4-1 record
and a first-place finish at the Evanston Tourney on Friday and Saturday.
Joe Shannon/Peter Dore (Lyons)
The Lyons' offensive trio scored 20 goals as the Lions ended the Fenwick
Tournament in second place after a one-goal loss to the hosts. Shannon
scored the game-winning goal and totaled 4 scores in a 6-5 win over
Naperville North on Friday, while Dore led the team with 5 goals in both
wins over LWE and Naperville Central. Shannon scored 2 times and Dore
added a late goal in a 6-5 loss to the Friars.
Makai Deneve-Arnam (Maine South)
Deneve-Arnam led the Hawks with 14 goals as they went 4-0 to win the Maine
East Tournament over the weekend. The Hawks' star also scored 3 times in
Tuesday's win over Maine East and contributed 4 goals in a 12-6 win over
Glenbrook North on Thursday.
Quinn Johnson (Bremen)
Johnson poured in 30 goals for the Silver Snakes' as they finished tied
for the top spot at the Evanston Tournament with a 4-1 record. Johnson
also scored the game-winner in a 12-11 win over GBN, while also leading
the team in scoring in victories over Evanston, GBS, and McHenry.
Rob Battin (St Viator)
The Lions posted an impressive 4-1 record at the Evanston Tournament
behind Battin's 17-goal performance.
Will Russell (Neuqua Valley)
Russell totaled 12 goals at the Fenwick Tournament to help the Wildcats
earn key wins over Stevenson and St Patrick. He also tallied 6 scores in a
15-13 win over Waubonsie on Thursday night.
GIRLS
Amy Kopale/Kristen Kleist/Vicki
Arciniega (McAuley)
The Mighty Macs' trio combined to score 13 goals in the team's
title-winning performance at Naperville Central and have made a huge
impact for a team that has started the season with a 6-1 record against
the toughest schedule of any team after two weeks. Kopale and Arciniega
both put in 2 goals in Monday's win over St Ignatius, while Kleist also
added one goal.
Cara Borkovec (Fenwick)
Borkovec started the week with 5 goals in a season-opening 13-8 win over
Loyola. Then, she scored 3 times to help the defending champs beat
second-ranked Mother McAuley 5-3 on Wednesday night.
Carly Romano (Maine West)
Romano scored 6 goals to help the Warriors finish in second at the STC
North Tournament on Saturday. She also tallied 5 goals in an 8-6 victory
over Lake Forest on Wednesday.
Celine Dalde/Drew L'Ecuyer/Rachel Thorson (Bradley)
The Boilers' trio combined to score 27 goals in three wins at the Bremen
Tournament, which Bradley clinched with a 13-8 triumph over Morton.
Clare Bryar (McAuley)
Bryar led the Mighty Macs with 9 goals as they posted a 3-0 record and won
the Naperville Central Tournament. Bryar put in 4 goals in the title game
win over the hosts and added 5 more goals in wins over Fremd and
Mundelein. She scored 6 times in Monday night's 11-6 win over St
Ignatius as well.
Erin Reagan (Naperville Central)
Reagan led the Redhawks' offense with 9 goals as they took second at their
own tournament over the weekend. She led the team with 3 scores in
Friday's 9-3 win over H-F and also tallied 4 scores in a title game loss
to Mother McAuley.
Evan Swenson (Loyola)
Swenson continued her dominance on the offensive end by pouring in 15
goals as the Ramblers won Naperville North's Tournament with wins over the
hosts, Neuqua, and R-B. She also led the team with 4 goals in a win over
St Viator earlier in the week.
Samantha Nuñez (Morton)
Nuñez scored 12 goals to lead all scorers at the Bremen Tournament,
helping the Mustangs finish in second place after wins over Marian and
Richards. She also scored 5 goals in a 10-7 triumph over Northside on
Wednesday.
