Sekula allowed just 8 goals and Shannon provided the Lions' offense with
14 scores as LT won their own tournament over the weekend in LaGrange.
Sekula totaled 26 saves in a three-game stretch that included wins over
Loyola, St Ignatius, and Loyola. The Lions' keeper allowed just one score
to the Ramblers in an 11-1 title game drubbing of the state's third-ranked
team.
Not only did Shannon lead all scorers at the event, he also scored 7 times
in the Lions' 16-5 victory over H-F on Monday night. Sekula also totaled
15 saves in the win.
GIRLS
Abbey Kerth (Naperville Central)
Kerth scored 18 goals over the weekend at the Fenwick Tournament, leading
the top-ranked Redhawks to a 4-0 record in the state's premier event.
She scored 7 times in Central's 14-11 title game win over Lyons on
Saturday night. She also scored 6 goals in a 19-6 triumph over Mundelein
on Thursday. In between, she totaled 5 scores in wins over New Trier and
Stevenson.
The Redhawks' leading scorer also tallied 5 scores in a 17-0 win over
Neuqua Valley earlier in the week.
