Farmer recorded 14 goals and Huening totaled 12 scores as Fenwick won
their own tournament with a 4-0 mark with wins over Curie, H-F, Lyons, and
St Patrick. In the championship game, Farmer poured in 6 goals and Huening
added 4 scores in a 16-8 victory over #2 Lyons. Huening led the team with
4 goals in a 13-8 win over H-F, while Farmer did the same in a 13-8
victory over Curie on Friday night. The duo have helped the Friars jump
out to a 7-0 start in 2012.
GIRLS
Julia Campbell (Naperville Central)
Campbell recorded 61 saves and allowed just 9 goals in four games at the
NC Tournament, helping the Redhawks to a perfect record and a tournament
title. Her best performance came in the title game, where she made 24
saves, including a five-meter block in the fourth quarter, as Central
defeated Fenwick
5-4 in triple-overtime. She also recorded a shutout in a 14-0 win over Oak
Park, limited H-F to just one goal and made 17 saves in the the team's
tournament opener, and stopped 14 shots in a 16-4 victory over Mundelein.
She also allowed just 2 goals in Wednesday's 13-2 win over New Trier.
