BOYS
Billy Barth (St Ignatius)
The Wolfpack freshman has made an immediate impact as the team's leading
scorer. Barth scored 8 times to help SICP beat Oak Park and Stevenson at
the Lyons Tournament, an event where Ignatius' placed third. Barth also
connected on the game-winning goal in sudden-death overtime in the 10-9
win over Oak Park.
Nick Opfer (Niles West)
Opfer totaled 12 saves and 6 steals in the Wolves' 6-5 extra time win over
Maine East and has provided a solid back line for Niles' 15-8 showing thus
far in 2012.
GIRLS
Danielle Patrick (Lindblom)
Patrick totaled 24 goals in wins over Kennedy and Lil' Village to keep
Lindblom's record perfect (8-0) in 2012.
Rachel Chumbrook (Palatine)
Chumbrook led the Pirates with 13 goals at the Saint Viator Tournament on
Friday and Saturday. She scored 4 times in a surprising 7-7 draw with
Prospect, totaled 5 goals in a 6-4 win over Lockport, and helped the
Pirates grab wins over Viator and Schaumburg during Week 6.
Tegan Moore (Lyons)
The Lions' goaltender plays an integral role for a team that prides itself
on solid defensive work. Moore earned three
wins at the Fenwick Tournament over the weekend, helping LT place second
at the 12-team event.
