Surprises
BOYS
Late Season Craziness
There were a handful of surprise results during Week 8.
On Monday, Hinsdale Central beat Oak Park 13-11 to clinch second place in
the WSC. LWE earned just their fifth win of the season when they beat
Neuqua Valley on Wednesday. Bradley knocked Andrew out of contention for
the SWSC Red title on Thursday. OPRF responded to their early-week loss by
beating Naperville Central on Friday night. And for the biggest surprise of all, see below:
Lyons Ends Fenwick's 82-Game Winning Streak
It's normally not a major surprise when #2 beats #1,
but since the eight-time defending champions haven't lost since early
March of 2010 (82 games ago), we'll say that LT's 6-5 win over the Friars
makes for a surprise. The two teams will likely meet again in the
sectional finals if all goes according to plan. Don't miss that game!
GIRLS
Rockford Avenges Loss to Fenwick
Fenwick beat Michigan's top team 8-3 last weekend. So
the Friars' 9-8 loss to the hosts in the Rockford Tourney title game came as a slight surprise on
Saturday evening.

Co-Ed Tournaments Highlight Saturday Slate
Metea Valley and Stevenson both host four-team boys'

Conference Tournament Weekend
The final weekend of the regular season concludes with
four conference tournaments; the CSL, CPS, MCAC, and WSC all determine a
champion via tournament on both Friday and Saturday.
MSL Titles On The Line
Fremd will take on either BG or Wheeling in the boys'
title game on Wednesday, while the Fremd girls will look to defend their
