Sokolsky scored the game-winning goal with :11 left as the Patriots beat
Parkway West 10-9 on Friday night.
GIRLS
Meredith O'Brien (Loyola)
The Loyola goalie blocked a five-meter shot with :29 left in overtime to
lead the Ramblers to a 14-13 win over York.
Top Goalie Performances
BOYS
Robbie O'Connor (Loyola)
The Ramblers' goalie was instrumental in the team's 10-game winning
streak, which included wins over Brother Rice, GBS, Latin, LWC, and St
Patrick during Week 3. He allowed less than 6 goals per game against four
teams ranked in the Top 25 and Missouri's #1 team (SLUH).
GIRLS
Kallie Shields (Prospect)
Shields recorded an 11-0 shutout on Thursday against Rolling Meadows and
made 16 saves in a 6-5 victory over OPRF on Wednesday night. She also
scored 3 times in the Knights' 10-7 win over Hersey on Tuesday.
Mackenzie Bonk (Fenwick)
Bonk stopped 14 shots and allowed just 2 goals in Fenwick's 9-2 victory
over Stevenson in a state title game rematch from 2011.
Biggest
Surprises
BOYS
Loyola Upends Brother Rice
The Ramblers' 15-7 win over the Crusaders doesn't seem
like a surprise, except for the fact that they haven't beaten Brother Rice
since 2007; that's enough to qualify it as a Catholic League surprise in
2012.
Schaumburg's Up, Schaumburg's Down
The Saxons earned two major MSL wins over Barrington
and Conant this week, then slipped up in a nonconference loss to Hinsdale
South on Friday night.
GIRLS
Maine East Shocks Evanston In OT
The Blue Demons tied their game with Evanston at the
end of regulation and then beat the Wildkits in the final minute of
overtime in a CSL contest on Tuesday.
Naperville North Avenges Loss To Fremd
Nearly 48 hours after losing to #3 Fremd by a 9-3
margin, the Huskies earned a 9-8 overtime win over the Vikings on Monday
night.
