Evan Swenson/Marta Considine (Loyola)
Considine recorded 14 goals and Swenson netted 13 scores as the Ramblers
finished second at the GBS Sectional. The duo combined to score 11 goals
in each of their wins over GBN and Maine South, while Considine led the
team with 4 scores in a final game loss to New Trier.
Rebecca Mathews (H-F)
The Vikings' senior scored 14 goals in wins over Marian and LWN to help
her team advance to the LWC Sectional finals over the weekend.
Lizzie Hollopeter (Metea Valley)
Hollopeter scored two critical fourth-quarter goals to help MV beat
Naperville North 8-6 in the sectional semifinals. She also notched 3
scores in a 14-4 quarterfinal win over Waubonsie.
Leah Malsom (Wheeling)
The Wildcats' leading scorer registered 11 total goals at the Palatine
Sectional, helping Wheeling beat Vernon Hills and Mundelein en route to
the sectional finals (where they lost to Stevenson 10-4).
Sarah Fasching (Buffalo Grove)
Fasching scored 4 goals in BG's 10-8 overtime victory over Libertyville on
Thursday in the quarterfinal round. She also added 2 scores in a 13-6 loss
to Stevenson on Friday night.
Kate Luedtke/Lisa Danhauer (Barrington)
Luetdtke recorded 9 goals in wins over Schaumburg and St Viator to help
the Fillies make it to the sectional final round. Danhauer totaled 6
scores in the two wins and chipped in with 2 goals in an 11-3 final game
loss to Fremd.
Jessica Southern (Conant)
Southern scored five of the Cougars' six goals in a 6-5 victory over
Hersey in the quarterfinals of the Schaumburg Sectional.
Kristy Bessler (Schaumburg)
Bessler tallied 4 scores in the Saxons' 8-4 quarterfinal round win over
Elk Grove, then netted 4 more goals in a 12-7 loss to Barrington in the
semifinal round of sectionals.
Jamie Pappanastos (Sandburg)
Pappanastos scored 4 goals in an 11-7 semifinal win over Bremen and
registered 5 scores in the Eagles' 15-8 loss to McAuley in the sectional
finals at Stagg.
Kirby Kaptur/Lizzy Kosin (Lyons)
Kaptur scored 6 goals and Kosin scored 5 times as Lyons beat Oak Park 16-7
on Friday night but fell to defending champions Fenwick 7-6 in
sudden-death overtime.
