Carrie Nacht (Lyons)
Nacht totaled 11 goals over the weekend at the Fenwick Tournament, helping
the Lions finish in second place with a 3-1 mark. She also led the team
with 5 goals in Monday's 17-9 victory over Homewood-Flossmoor.
Cara Borkovec/Colleen Barron (Fenwick)
Borkovec and Barron combined to score 22 goals as Fenwick ended up
finishing in fifth place at their own event with a 3-1 record. The Friars
beat both Loyola and St Ignatius in the opening round, lost to LT, then
shutout H-F 9-0 in the fifth-place game.
Clare Bryar (Mother McAuley)
Bryar totaled 12 scores in the Mighty Macs' run to third place at the
Fenwick Tournament over the weekend. Bryar gave the Macs a 6-5 lead in the
final quarter of a 6-6 draw with SICP, then scored 4 times in an 11-2 win
over Evanston on Friday. She added 6 more goals in a win over Stevenson
and a loss to Lyons on Saturday.
Kate McDuff/Sofi Prorok (Naperville North)
McDuff recorded 25 saves and Prorok recorded 7 scores as the Huskies won
the York Tournament with quality wins over Andrew, Barrington, and Bremen.
Earlier in the week, Prorok totaled 8 goals in wins over Metea and Neuqua
and McDuff allowed just 4 goals per game.
Kathryn Noonan (Elk Grove)
Noonan scored 20 goals to help the Greandiers finish with a 3-1 record at
their own tournament on Saturday. The hosts beat Deer Park, Maine East,
and Meadows.
Kirby Kaptur/Lizzy Kosin (Lyons)
The Lions' senior duo each tallied 15 scores at the Fenwick Tournament,
which saw Lyons beat Fenwick en route to a second-place finish on
Saturday. The two also scored 3 goals apiece in a 17-9 win over H-F on
Monday.
Kristi Burke (Conant)
Burke led the Cougars with 12 scores at the Vernon Hills Tournament,
helping Conant win the event with a 3-0 mark. She also scored 6 times in
the team's 13-6 win over Maine West on Friday and tallied 4 scores in a
16-5 win over HEHS earlier in the week.
Molly Bruns/Sam Voelker (Libertyville)
Bruns and Voelker combined to score 25 goals as L'ville put together a 4-0
run at the Elk Grove Tournament to move to 10-3 on the season.
Rebecca Mathews (H-F)
Mathews was the co-leading scorer at the Fenwick Tourney, notching 18
goals, including the game-tying score in the final minute of the Vikings'
10-9 win over New Trier. She also put in 5 goals in a 14-6 triumph over
Andrew early in the week.
Sean Birkholz (Metea Valley)
Birkholz made a whopping 26 saves in the title game of the OPRF Tournament
to lead Metea Valley past Wheeling 7-6 on Saturday.
Tammy Stelnicki (St Ignatius)
Stelnicki led the Wolfpack to a 2-1-1 finish as SICP earned a draw with
Mother McAuley and beat both Evanston and New Trier over the weekend.
