The Eagles' duo of Veldman and Zieler worked together to score 19 goals on
Saturday at the Naperville North Tourney, lifting the Eagles to wins over
Schaumburg and STC North. Earlier in the week, Veldman scored 5 times in a
win over LWC and 6 times in avictory over Lockport, while Zieler put
in 4 goals in a 9-5 victory over H-F.
Randy Carr (Schaumburg)
Carr totaled 9 goals at the Naperville North Tournament, led the Saxons
with 3 scores and 7 steals in a 9-7 victory over Hoffman on Tuesday, and
totalied 6 goals and 4 steals in a 9-7 win over Buffalo
Grove on Thursday night.
Ryan Helsdingen (Fremd)
Helsdingen scored 5 times in a 12-2 win over Prospect, put
in 4 goals in a 13-5 victory over Palatine, then helped Fremd finish in
second place at the Naperville North Tournament with 5 total goals.
Allison Rocha/Emily Gallagher (Lincoln-Way West)
Rocha and Gallagher joined forces to record 15 goals for the Warriors on
Saturday, good enough for a 2-1 record and a second-place finish at the
GBS Tournament. Each player scored 3 times apiece in wins over the hosts and
Hinsdale Central.
Andie Cobb/Jessica Southern (Conant)
Cobb and Southern paired up to total 13 goals in Conant's
tournament-winning performance on Saturday at GBS. Cobb led the Cougars
with 3 scores in a 10-4 win over the hosts, Southern scored 3 times in a
7-4 victory over LWW, and the two combined to score 5 goals in a
tournament-winning 6-4 triumph over Hinsdale Central.
Danijela Jackovich (Lincoln-Way Central)
Jackovich recorded 8 goals and 8 steals to lead LWC past Sandburg 11-10 on
Wednesday in a major SWSC victory for the Knights.
Emily Nowlin (Lake Forest)
Nowlin led the Scouts with 22 goals in three games at the Barrington
Tournament on Saturday, including 6 scores in a big win over Vernon Hills
midway through the event.
Haley Wickham (Fenwick)
Wickham helped the Friars maintain their perfect standing in the Catholic
League wit ha 6-goal performance in a 12-9 win over St Ignatius on Monday
night.
Leah Malsom (Wheeling)
Malsom scored 12 goals in wins over Prospect and Vernon Hills during Week
5, helping the Wildcats move to the top of the MSL East standings and jump
to the #16 spot in this week's rankings.
Mallory Hecht (STC North)
Hecht scored 5 times in the North Stars 10-7 surprise victory over Neuqua
Valley on Wednesday. She also tallied 4 scores to help STC North beat
Metea Valley 11-6 earlier in the week.
Rebecca Mathews (Homewood-Flossmoor)
Mathews' dominant, 13-goal performance on Thursday helped the Vikings beat
rival Sandburg 18-11. The H-F senior also recorded 5 goals in a 10-8 win
over LWE on Monday night.
