Northside Tournament's title game, wrapping up a stretch of games where he
totaled 56 goals (in 9 games) for the Panthers. Von also beat Foreman and
Northside over the weekend to finish the event with a 3-0 record.
Brendan Hulseman (Loyola)
Hulseman scored 17 goals during Week 3 to help Loyola get past Brother
Rice, Glenbrook South, Latin, LWC, and Saint Patrick and improve to 12-2
on the season.
Curtis Thrun/Jake Roberts (Lincoln-Way North)
Thrun and Roberts combined to score 21 goals in victories over Bremen and
STC East during Week 3 as the Phoenix improved to 3-1.
Mitchell Sokolsky (Stevenson)
Sokolsky scored the game-winning goal in the final minute in Stevenson's
10-9 win over Parkway West and added 2 scores in an 8-3 victory over Ladue
on Saturday afternoon.
Troy Williams (Oak Park)
Williams totaled 20 goals over the weekend as the Huskies' finished with a
2-1 record against St Louis-based teams at the Stevenson Tournament. He
scored 7 goals in a 12-11 win over Ladue and put in 6 scores in a 15-12
victory over MICDS.
GIRLS
Audrey Chien (Naperville North)
Chien led the Huskies with 3 scores in a 9-8 overtime victory over #3
Fremd on Monday night, just three days after North lost to the Vikings 9-3
at the Naperville Central Tournament.
Emma Martinus (Bremen)
Martinus recorded 8 goals in a 12-2 win over Young, added 5 scores in a
12-3 victory over Andrew, and tallied 4 goals in Bremen's 13-8 win over
LWN.
Kallie Shields (Prospect)
Shields recorded an 11-0 shutout on Thursday against Rolling Meadows and
made 16 saves in a 6-5 victory over OPRF on Wednesday night. She also
scored 3 times in the Knights' 10-7 win over Hersey on Tuesday.
Kirby Kaptur/Lizzy Kosin (Lyons)
Kaptur and Kosin combined to record 26 goals and 15 steals as Lyons won
their own tournament on Saturday with wins over Lockport, Mundelein, and
Stevenson. The Lions moved to 10-0 on the season as the tandem also played
big roles in midweek victories over Bremen and Stagg.
Leah Malsom (Wheeling)
Malsom totaled 11 goals in victories over Buffalo Grove and Elk Grove to
keep the Wildcats perfect in the MSL East and 5-1 overall in 2012.
