Colin Rowe/David Hayes/John Baker (Lake Forest)
The Scouts' trio totaled 24 goals over the weekend to help Lake Forest win
the Vernon Hills Tournament. Baker led the way in the team's 13-9 title
game win over Libertyville with 5 scores, while Hayes contributed 4 goals
in the big win. Rowe led the team with 3 goals in each win over the hosts
and HP as the Scouts improved to 5-2 in 2012.
Dan Oldendorf (Lockport)
Oldendorf scored 7 goals in a 14-9 championship game win over Andrew at
the Hinsdale Central Tournament. He totaled 11 scores in the three-game
event, helping the Porters finish with a 3-0 record and wins over Hinsdale
South and STCE. Oldendorf also scored 5 times in a 19-10 win over Metea
earlier in the week.
Dennis Herron/Matt Reasons (Naperville Central)
Herron and Reasons combined to score 22 goals over the weekend at the
Fenwick Tournament, helping the Redhawks claim a fourth-place finish.
Eric Curia (Naperville North)
Curia led the Huskies to a third-place finish at the Fenwick Tournament
with 16 goals. North finished with a 3-1 record, including wins over LWE,
Naperville Central, and St Ignatius.
JJ Connor/Tom Meyer (Glenbrook South)
Connor totaled 23 goals and Meyer made 40 saves as GBS won their own event
with a 4-0-1 record. The lone tie came against McHenry, but the Meyer-led
defense claimed the title based on the lower number of goals allowed.
Joe Shannon/Kovas Zygas (Lyons)
Shannon and Zygas led the Lions to a second-place finish with 21 combined
goals during the four-game set. LT ended the event with a 3-1 record,
claiming wins over Naperville Central, Naperville North, and Stevenson.
GIRLS
Abbey Kerth (Naperville Central)
Kerth totaled 9 goals over the weekend, including the game-winning goal in
a triple-overtime thriller of a title game against Fenwick, as the
Redhawks won their own tournament with a 4-0 record. NC also beat H-F,
Mundelein and Naperville North. Kerth also scored 6 times in a 13-2 win
over New Trier earlier in the week.
Cara Borkovec/Colleen Barron (Fenwick)
Borkovec and Barron totaled 19 goals in Fenwick's second-place performance
at the Naperville Central Tourney over the weekend. Their 3-1 mark
included wins over Fremd, McAuley, and Naperville North.
Julie Pater (Buffalo Grove)
Pater totaled 15 goals in the three-game STC North Tourney, leading the
Bison to a 3-0 record and a title game win over Andrew. She scored 5 times
in an early-round win over Maine West, notched 7 scores in a 10-8 defeat
of Lake Forest, and ended the event with a team-leading 3 scores in a 7-5
victory over Andrew.
Lauren Zambelli (Fremd)

The Vikings' trio combined to score 17 goals in a third-place performance
at the Naperville Central Tournament. The team finished with a 3-1 mark,
including wins over McAuley, H-F, and Naperville North.
Sam Gavars/Brooke Fanslow (Barrington)
Gavars recorded 8 goals and Fanslow blocked 37 shots in Barrington's three
wins during Week 2. Gavars led the Fillies with 3 scores in Monday night's
8-7 victory over Mundelein, then scored 2 times in each win over Hoffman
and Palatine. Meanwhile, Fanslow saved 18 shots in Monday's win over the
Mustangs and allowed just 6 goals per game in Week 2.
