Annie Collins (Fenwick)
The Fenwick senior helped Fenwick reclaim the lead twice in the third
period after H-F had tied the score in both instances, then sealed the
Friars' 10-7 win over the Vikings with the final goal of the game.
Becky Insalaco (St Ignatius)
Insalaco was a force on the offensive end for the Wolfpack, scoring 4
times in a 10-6 victory over Loyola. She scored two goals in the first
period to help the Wolfpack build an early advantage and scored a key goal
after the Ramblers had cut the Ignatius' lead to one in the second half.
Cara Borkovec (Fenwick)
Borkovec scored a late goal in the opening period to get the Friars on the
scoreboard after they trailed for most of the first quarter. She also
added a quick goal to start the third period that helped Fenwick build a
4-2 lead after halftime.
Karen Lowry (Stevenson)
Lowry led the Patriots with 3 goals, including the eventual game-winning
goal in Stevenson's 8-7 overtime victory over Naperville Central.
Lisa Michalowski (Stevenson)
Michalowski stopped 22 shots and was the backbone of a defense that didn't
allow a goal in overtime in an 8-7 victory over Naperville Central.
Maggie Carey (Fenwick)
With Fenwick only leading by a goal in the fourth quarter, Carey stepped
up and scored two straight goals to help the Friars secure a 10-7 victory
over H-F.
Maureen Barron (Fenwick)
Barron recorded two key goals in the Friars' 10-7 win
over H-F on Thursday. With the score tied at 1-1, she scored the first goal of the
second
period and also added a key goal early in the fourth quarter to help
Fenwick pull away and advance to the state semifinals. She also won all four
swimoffs in Thursday's game.
Vicky Arciniega (Mother McAuley)
Arciniega scored 2 goals and her near-miss led to a third score for the
Mighty Macs as they held off Fremd 3-2 on Thursday night.
